Science is as far away from Religon as Pluto is away from the Sun.
Religous people like to think there is Science in their Religon but no, nothing. Creationism is not science it is a fable, tall tale.... it would be nice if it was true, but no, its not.
Science - knowledge, as of facts or principles; knowledge gained by systematic study.
Religion-a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

The entire point to science is to discover how things work, not why they exist. While the two certainly can overlap, there still exists the fundamental difference of what the point behind the two is. Science relies on observation and data, and it also relies on things that can be proved or disproved using the senses. Moreover, these thingsmust be proved over and over again. Religion is based on faith, not proof.

In science, if you preform an experiment and get a result, that result MUST be reproducible in a consistent predictable manner to be considered valid
If I conduct an experiment with prayer, there is no consistent predictable result. Same with death, the only result I can quantify if that someone is dead. There is no proof he went to heaven or hell. So religion can not be validated with what we call Science.

For years, starting from Galileo, religion has scorned science and vice versa. Galileo discovered that the earth revolves around the sun, but church wouldn't accept it. Since then, religion and science have been like oil and water.

Science changes it's findings: for more grant $.
Religion should not be subject to love of money.
Both should look at what's evident from evidence.
It's evident no man justified by law in God's sight.
(such is written "unto the churches": Galatians 3)
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

The two are both related, but religion is considered more related to society and religion more to fact.
