I'd say that the average rider rides about 13-15 mph. That comes out to about a half hour. For a fit road rider, you are talking 20mph and therefore around 20 minutes give or take.

It depends on your fitness and biking ability, as well as the terrain. On flat ground, it should take 20-25 minutes if you hustle.

They have uphill bike races at Mount Washington, NH and Whiteface Mountain, NY. They're both about 8 miles, all uphill. The winners finish in about 50 minutes for Mt. Washington, 45 min for Whiteface. That might not seem fast, but it's a tough ride!

Depends how fast. I can do 7 miles in about 20-25 minutes.

It depends on your speed. I have a little experience and a good road bike and I average about 18MPH, which puts at about 25 minutes. Your speed will depend on your strength, bike, the terrain, and possibly the wind factor. It could be a little different every time.

I suggest to every cyclist that is just starting out, get a speedometer. It is worth it, you can monitor you speed, distance traveled, and some even check heart rate and temperature. You can get one for as little and $20 and as much as $100 (estimate)

Good Luck!

Ok the first answerer needs to chack the math. 7mph would mean one hr/60 min. 10 mph would be faster, ie less than 60 min, not 70. Well yesterday i did a flat seven miles at about 30 mph with a 5-10mph tail wind. That means 14 min!

Umm... if you ride 10 mph, it will take you under an hour... not 70 minutes!

You should be able to do it in less than an hour. I can do it in half that just cruising along.

Depends on how fast you are going....if you can do 10 mph, then it will take you 70 minutes. 10 mph on a bike isn't very fast, either.
