Kelly,
Please contact your doctor. Puffy ankles can be a sign of many things, including retaining fluid. It could be minor, but also could be a symptom of something more major, so contact your doctor, TODAY! To even speculate possible conditions, I would need to know your current and past health history and other symptoms. Your doctor will be able to determine if this is something that needs immediate attention or if it can wait for an office visit. Also, I would suggest going to WEB MD. You can list your symptoms and it can give you some direction and information to determine what to do! Its a great tool. Search google for the exact address, and don't forget to call your doctor!

"Puffy ankles," as you describe is caused by poor venous return to the heart. Extra fluids are backing up in your lower extremities. The left is usually more edematous than the right due to the anatomy of the venous return. (the veins from your left leg have more pressure placed on them in the abdomen area) The fluid is making your tissues tender. It is very common and can happen if you are on your feet a lot. Try to put your feet up if you can, wear compression stockings and maybe restrict fluids and salt in your diet. It is a good idea to see your regular doctor if this persists. Sometimes it is also a sign of heart failure. Watch also for shortness of breath when you are exerting yourself and especially when you lie flat. The doctor can prescribe diuretics to help you go to the bathroom to lose the extra water and check your lungs. Don't panic many people have this condition especially as we grow older.

The puffy ankles is basically from the extra fluid you retained for the time of your being pregnant. it could take in to a month to get rid of it. It has no longer something to do with breastfeeding. Salting your foodstuff to style might help. additionally soaking your ft in Epsoms salts is sweet too.

You need to see a doctor about this. In the meantime elevate your feet as often as possible, no salt and soak them in cold water to bring down the swelling. Don't eat any processed foods either. But see the doctor ASAP. Signs point to heart, kidney, thyroid and doctor will prescribe diuretics for this.

sometimes this occurs because you spend too much time on your feet. Try soaking your feet in an Epsom salt bath after a long day.
