I saw this guy that I went to high school with while I was shopping at Fred Meyer the other day. We used to be friends but had a bad falling out. While I was in the frozen dinner aisle, he and his lady friend walked passed me and I heard him make the remark," I wonder what happened to that nappy-headed black ***** that used to harass me in school, refering to me. HE was the psycho that harassed me and my sister back in school. I didn't say anything to him. I just let him go. When I got home and told my mother and my sister and they said I did the right thing, but my dad and my buddies said I should have cussed him out. What do you guys think I should have done? Should I have said something to the jerk?

People like that are called emotional manipulators. They try to take control of you by provoking you into a stupid arguement because they think you are an easy victim. They get off on it. You were mature and did not give him the satisfaction of your time and energy. You handled it excellently. Be proud of yourself.

Saying nothing, or no reaction for him to see was probably the best thing to do. Cussing him out would have been what he wanted. Obviously you have moved on and don't need to play into someone who is obviously still sore about the subject. He sounds like a winner.

You did the right thing. That person isn't worth the effort it takes to retaliate. You have better things to do in life. Besides, I think it's best to feel sorry for someone so ignorant.

you did the right thing. just ignoring him like he wasnt even there shows that you are the beter person. also it shows his new friend just what will be said about her if they were to go their seperate ways. sounds like he is not yet a man, just a little boy who still has some growing up to do.

Well, I think you did the right thing. And it is not a wonder whatever happened to your ex-bf. Sometimes aging doesn't mature people, he is a good example of this.

I think you did right. You didn't say anything you would later regret, and according to the bible, when someone is mean to you and you respond kindly, you are heaping burning coals on their heads. Way to go. Good job.

You did good in keeping your temper and not blowing his spot up. If I were in your position I would have tottally let him have it.
