We converted an old refrigerator and it looks very nice. You can buy a conversion kit from micromatic.com. We bought the nicest one with two taps including the valves, lines and co2 tank. I think it was around $200 but they have cheaper ones. You could buy a refrigerator out of the thrifty paper for $100 dollars or less and you could end up with a $200 investment.

It was very simple to convert and we love it. But if you don't want to go that route, best buy has one for under $500. On the website it is more but it goes on sale all the time.

Plus converting the refrigerator makes it very functional. We store mugs in the freezer so everything is always ready.

Build it yourself. Get a cheap used refrigerator and then buy the other parts: tubing, tap, handle, gas tank... separate. It will take a few hours to put it all together, but it will save you a ton of cash.
