My daughter was on antibiotics and got a diaper rash. The nystatin made it worse. I took it upon myself to try Monistat and I swear by it. I use the equate from Walmart. I would definately recommend it. Bout half the cost of Boudreaux's Butt Paste.

Ive heard of it but i wouldn't recommend it. MOnostat cream is made for adults and is probably too strong for baby. Nystatin is a great cream! Ask your pediatrician to write a refill on the prescription so you can have some on hand if the yeast infection comes back!
My daughter was horrible about getting them, her pediatrician recommended that we switch diaper brands and since we did that she hasn't had one since!
Good Luck!

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

Yes, esp if the over-the counter diaper rash stuff doesn't work. Sometimes it's yeast, which is naturally occuring in people's bowels and causes and infection on the skin.

I've heard of it, but I would never use this stuff on a baby. If it's the same, why not just use the nysatin? Anyway, my babies have never had diaper rash - you know why? When their bottoms got even a bit red, I would slather on plain old Vaseline. It provides a healing effect for the rash and creates a barrier for moisture. Try it - better than monostat, any day!

I have never heard of it before. If your baby has a diaper rash I always have used corn starch rather than the diaper rash cream.

I have heard of lotimin for diaper rashes. Actually got that from the pharmacist ( who can be great resources - call Target and ask, you may get a quicker response than your docs and nurses office)
