Your right, the first 26 races don't mean as much as the last ten. That being said being Gordon's worst finish so far this year is 12th (2 wins, 7 top 5s and 8 top10s in 9 races) he's been very consistent, which is what wins Championships.
Secondly he knows what it takes to be a champion as he has accomplished this 4 times already (how many does Jr have ?)
Being if the Chase started today Jr would be out, you should worry about your own driver instead of spending your time being jealous of the #24 Du Pont Chevrolet and Jeff Gordon

Not a Gordon fan but lets be serious the driver that generally chokes is Jr. Stats dont Lie. Gordon is on a roll and with his record it doesnt matter if he wins anymore cups, he has already achieved more than Jr and most other drivers ever will. He is now the best driver of modern time and has surpassed Dale Earnhardt's record. Your real delusional if you think Jr will ever achieve that. If Gordon doesnt win the cup it certainly wont be Jr. Johnson & Stewart are also out there as well as several other strong drivers.

Yes the Gordon fans are making a big deal out of it, but mainly because in Phenox he tied Earnhardt Sr. with 76 wins and then at Talledga passed him. And yes I am a JG fan. He will not for sure choke, it's always possible, but not certain...he has the potential to win the cup this year.

I think it's so funny that all these Jr fans can talk SO BAD but all you have to do is look at the numbers but hey that won't shut them up either...lets see Jeff 4 championships ..Jr How many..NONE/ZERO/ZIP hahahaha
and to think I ain't even a Gordon fan but it's just funny as heck to hear Jr fans swear that Jr can whip Gordons butt, Jr couldn't win if he was the only car on the track

The way nascar announcers talk,it's already a given that the championship is Gordon's. Gordon's team has the money and Nascar loves that money

While I share your "go 8" statement, I have to disagree with everything else you have said. If you look a little deeper into what is going on, those last 2 wins were very important wins. The first win tied him with Dale Sr.'s wins of all times, and this 2nd win put him passed Dale Sr's win mark. With as many wins as Dale had, that is a great accomplishment for any team in NASCAR, and like anybody else, if it were me, i'd be pretty damn excited myself knowing I was able to accomplish that.
