What is needed to be done to get my CA driver license reinstated? How long will it take? If I can't get my license reinstated, can I get a CA identification card?

If it's been more than three years you're fine. All you need to do is go to the DMV office and pay the $50.00 reinstatement fee, and you'll be driving in no time. and if it's been less than the three years then you'll have to pay I believe a $250.00 fine, plus the $50.00 (reinstatement fee) plus you'll have to get an SR22 it all depends on why you had it suspended.
Good Luck!

I would think there wouldn't be a problem getting a state ID... That's different from an actual license. Check with the DMV about how to get your license reinstated. They probably have records showing how long your license was suspended and can answer your question.

It starts at the time your license is reinstated. The SR22 will be sent from the insurance company to the State to show that you are carrying the required insurance. If the policy ever cancels (for non payment or anything else) the State will get what is called an SR26 which will tell them your policy has cancelled and then your license will be suspended again. So, make sure to pay your policy on time and keep it up!

At the time they took your license they also told you what you would need to get it back. If you have lost that information, you will need to contact the Department of Motor Vehicles and discuss it with them. Generally you need to have all fines paid, SR-22 insurance in place if required, and the proper amount of time to have passed.

Yes, an identification card is just proof of who you are, and fairly easy to get with proper identification and proof of legal residency in California.
