is biking 15 miles in an hour a fast time or a slow time?

It's average. Not fast or slow. But it really depends on the kind of rider you are. If you are a 21 year old guy in good shape, you probably could go faster with some training and riding in a club setting. But my girlfried, for example, does 13mph rides and is elated.

Just for comparison, a cat. 5 (beginner) road race will average about 20mph. A cat. 3 (average) race goes about 23-25. Pros are going 25 and up to 30 depending on the course.

a lot of variables
wind, hills, terrain
15mph for a casual/ rec rider sure why not? But 15mph will not win any races

Like everyone else says. It's average. I bet you can go faster.

I think that is average. When we do our rides, we go an average of 20-22mph
