The devil cannot stand humility it crushes his very being, praise and thanksgiving are humility in action.
The evil one flees in the face of a humble servant of the most High.

When you begin to praise and thank the Lord for things He has done, or even things that you have asked HIM to do on your behalf or the behalf of someone esle..that is showing the enemy that You have faith and believe and are standing on the Lord's promise. The enemy cant stand when people give God glory and praise and thanksgiving...because he knows that a blessing is going to come down from heaven and cancel out anythng that he ( the enemy) has in mind for you. When people praise the Lord even before they see any results from their prayers, fasting and praise it gets the devil heated because he knows what happens when praised go up. BLESSINGS COME DOWN!!!!

When devil was granted respite till day of judgement. He told god that he will not find any humility or thanks for his blessings to human beings from human beings. Living creation is all based on love though that comes from God which we share, God also wants to see unity, peace, patience and for humans not to be an opportunist because he provides everything to us. Though the devil keeps whispering to us that we are self-sufficient and self-righteous then we end up in all our worries. Therefore our potential is in being with god and reaching god through thankfulness, piety and humbleness which is best we can do as human beings. May God/Allah bless all of us.

Because it puts your focus on God and not your surroundings or situation. The enemy's greatest weapon against you is "distraction".

I think the more you praise and thank God the ore God likes it and the devil is terrified of praise and thanks directed towards the Son. Its like the opposite of what hes about

Kinda like if you were to try to bash someone (like a Christian) and they just simply said "I thank God for you." It would defeat your purpose of trying to offend me.
