Because the job is not finished yet.
Because the Iraqi people have a democracy that they selected in UN-certified elections.
A better question would be: "Why do you want to betray the troops and the Iraqi people?"

Bush is a true believer. He really does see this war as a critical point in the war on terror and he may be correct. Unfortunately the reason it is the central front is becasue we made it that way. I disagreed with the invasion on Iraq, but now it is something that we must win regardless of the circumstances of how we got here. Bush created this mess and now we must fix it. Leaving Iraq will be catestrophic.

If we pack up and leave it will be all for nothing. We have to finish what we started. This "is" the war on terror and nobody said it was going to be easy. We have to stay until the Country becomes self-reliant and stable. We have not been attacked again since 9/11 and I believe the main reason for that is our presence in Iraq. If we withdraw, the fight may follow us back to the U.S. Then what would we do?

because, win or lose, the American economy benefits.
You hear everyday how the American economy has a TRADE defecit? And this defecit has been around....
... since the WWII? Well, something has to balance the books.
And that is War spending. (gov't spending). Bombing, transporting, feeding troops in a foreign country is the best and most expensive war. After the war is over, (win or lose) will be paid for the invaded country, (iraq=oil). And the rebuilding of the country (iraq) will be done by American companies, or subcontracted to other countries (allies), such as Australia and Britain.

for all you ignorant people out there im going to make it simple.
We dont want another 9-11. so, we go there and fight them on thier soil. IF by some INSANE chance you DO want another 9-11 then by all means bring all the troops home and dont even bother sending more or we can bring them home and they can fight with them here... would that make you happy then???
and for all the idiots who think we are there for oil.. we would just take it and get out, right?? umm hello use your brains people (if you have any)

Because he's a warmonger, that's all in his mind right now, and I'm not for any war... Iraq didn't start this whole thing in the first place to begin with, and Bush even said Iraq had nothing to do with it, and he still wants all the control and power.
Greedy, Greedy man.

He has oil wells in Kuwait, so does his father and friends.
He spent so much time growing up in Saudi Arabia that most of his friends are there. He would like very much to have oil wells in Iraq and Iran but to do so he has to destabilize the current powers there.
He who has the oil rules the world. So says Time magazine.
