I believe we are saved by Grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone. That being said, Christian--what are we saved from? And have some integrity and don't peek at others answers... you can challenge your faith! What are you saved from?

Thanks! I had no intention of finding a particular answer, but some of the Arminians I know have said things like "myself" and it is apparent to me that this is incorrect. First and foremost, we are saved from God's terrible wrath! Without regeneration, even prayer and praise is actually SIN! This topic always makes me think of the sermon "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" by Jonathan Edwards. Praise Him!

In addition, sir, if you have no reason to challenge your faith, grow in grace the and understanding of our Father and challenge the non-believer in the street and the believer behind the pulpit.... I sincerely pray that God shows us our hearts and our part in the Great Commission. Amen.

1 I'm saved from the penalty of sin which happened the moment I accepted Christ=Past tense.
2 I'm I am being saved from the power and dominion of sin=present tense.
3 When Christ calls me I'll be saved from the presence of sin=future tense.

We are saved from our sins. Sin is defined as "the transgression of the Law" (1 John 3:4). (That is, the 10 Commandments.) Some Christians falsely believe that they don't need to obey the 10 Commandments anymore. Au contraire! Yes, we are saved by grace, and not by the Law, but the Law is like a mirror - it shows us what "sin" is. It's like our sin is dirt on our faces, and the mirror just shows us the dirt. The blood of Christ is the washcloth that washes it off.
Here is an analogy:
Let's say you are speeding down the highway at 80 mph in a 60. A cop pulls you over, because you are "under the Law". The cop asks for your driver's license, registration and proof of insurance and goes back to his car. He returns and says, "You know, I'm in a generous mood today, so I'm going to let you off with a warning." You wipe the sweat from your brow and let out a breath. You are now no longer "under the Law" but "under grace". The cop didn't give you what you deserved. Now, when re-entering traffic, should you peel out and burn rubber, kicking up gravel, because you are "under grace"? Of course not! You carefully check your mirrors, and slowly pull out into traffic at a snail's pace, because you are "under grace".
Christians are even more obligated to follow the 10 Commandments than anyone else. We don't follow them to be saved, but rather we follow them BECAUSE we are saved.

We are saved from a horrible fate of never knowing God. We are saved from the wicked eternity in Hell. We are saved so that we can see our Christ someday. We are saved from an evil heart. Sometimes, people who are not saved may seem to have a better life while thousands of martyrs die for God. It doesn't seem fair but truly if someone who doesn't believe in God dies, they are not saved from the most horrible afterlife imaginable. But when we die for Christ and we are saved through Him, we will forever be in peace with the Lord. Ultimately I believe that we are saved from a life without the Lord. A life empty. A life without fulfillment.

You are saved from the bondage of sin. As a lost individual you have a carnal nature and are consumed by the lusts of this world without concern for the next. As the result of salvation you become a new creature. Old things are passed away. The new man now can free himself from the things that consume him in the flesh to serve God in the spirit and truth.

Sin and hell!
Praise be to Jesus!
Romans 6:23 says "For the wages of sin is death" and this is the second death described in Revelation 20.
Those who believe have "passed from death to life" we gain eternal life in Heaven with the Lord, not only that but a wonderful relationship with Him now!
And we are saved from His wrath, from eternal separation in hell.
Sin is serious, and it has consequences. I am just so thankful and greatful to God for saving me, and giving me eternal life in Him! I do not deserve such a wonderful GIFT. And yes it is only by His grace we are saved! (Ephesians 2:8)

I'm saved from the wages of sin which is an eternity apart from the Godhead and the innumerable children of God gathered in the joy of the Lord created before the foundation of the world.
Amen.
Can I peek now? :>

WE are saved from OURSELVES...our sinful selves..Had it not be for the Lord who was on our side...where would we be...He gave us free will to chose what is right and wrong on our own..But when we come to the understand and gain the knowledge that He provided for us He gives use favor and grace. He knows that we are no perfect but the law is there , the Holy Spirit is there, and God is always there to help us when we stumble and to prevent us from stumbling so far down that we can no longer see or hear Him or His instruction for our lives. The BIBLE was written for a reason ... we need to hold fast to the law and the WORD of GOD to help us live our live the way that the Lord wants us to. Not PERFECTLY but right according to HIS WORD

Saved from Hell. I know b/c my overnight conversion came in the form of a near-death experience where I actually experienced Hell. Before that I was a very skeptical agnostic.
As soon as I prayed to God for escape from that horrible place (the first time I ever prayed in my life), I was rescued, or, to put it in your terms, "saved."
I have no idea why I got a second chance, but I'm extremely grateful that I did.

I have been saved from an eternity of seperation from God. From the chains that bind me to sin. From the weight of those sins and the fear of being alone. I am saved from going through life on my own strength. I am saved from the empty goals and pleasure seeking that so many in this world embrace. Finally I am saved from my own self destruction.

Saved from hell. Saved from the penalty of sin. Without Jesus' sacrifice there could be no way out of hell. We would be doomed...because ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But we that are saved, are washed clean of sin and are spared. Praise Jesus!!! I don't need to challenge my faith. I know what God has done for me. God bless you.
