Completely loosing feeling of your hands...and when that happens your whole skin on your body gets rigid?

Well this isn't happening to me. It is happening to my cousin and she refuses to go to the doctor. Her whole skin all over her body gets rigid when she starts to loose sensation of her hands. We're making her go to the Doctor but I wanted to do some research. And according to her mom it happens at least 3 times a week.

Does the skin actually get rigid or does it just feel that way? and do you really mean the WHOLE body?
The symptom can actually mean anything from loss of sufficient blood flow to the area, pinched nerves, or a stroke.
Does this happen on occasional basis or is it often? How long does it last? Does it ever come back to normal?
I think you should start with your regular doctor.
