How soon can you return to sports (baseball) after a cortisone injection?

If I were to receive a shot in my elbow, how soon could I return to playing? Same day? 24 hrs? More?

It takes a week to receive the full benefits of a cortisone injection. It's best to wait one week before returning to sports. In the meantime you can put ice on the area to help with the inflammation.
