Why do Christians accept medical care and surgeries to extend life? It seems to me that if a Christian came down with cancer, they would jump up and down celebrate, right? I mean, you are going to the perfect kingdome and paradise of heaven, right? Why would you want to extend your life here? Why don't you have wild parties when a loved one dies? They are in a perfect place now, right?

I don't get it. If I were a Christian, and I really believed in heaven, I'd be BEGGING to get cancer, or a heart attack or something so I can get out of here. If I were a Christian, and I was diagnosed with cancer, I'd refuse ALL medical care and have a big long party!

Why don't you Christians do this? Seems logical to me.

Have you ever been close to someone who was slowly dying of cancer? I have. Recently.

We Christians do not have perfect faith. None of us. But no one wants to suffer to death, and cancer is very very painful.

Why do people who are not believers feel such a pressing need to mock and trip up those who do bekieve in something greater than ourselves? Or was this an honest question?

We who become Christians are here on this earth to share the love of Jesus Christ. We have a job to do. As much as we long to go to heaven, we have a purpose. The longer we live the more people we can bring to Christ.

We all have troubles. Deciding whether to accept medical care is not just about ones being a Christian. There are lots of factors to consider when making that kind of life changing decision.

I have attended funerals of both believers of Jesus and nonbelievers. There is a big difference in the way both the individual who has died and the way the family and friends of that love one deal with the whole process of death. Christians tend to cope better and are more at peace.

You may not know any christians.. You may only know those that hold claim to being christian.
Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Those are the words of Jesus.
Also, Jesus was in the tomb three day's and three night. Not Friday sundown to Sunday morning. I'm not sure that I know any christian. No person that ever lived is in heaven, they are dead awaiting the resurection. Read Revelation. There in no ever burning hell. Read Malachi. Saturday is the Sabbath, not Sunday. God does not hear the prayers of sinner. Read ST. John. Not keeping the Sabbath makes one a sinner. THE other anwsers you received came from would be christians and people that are simply full of crap.

(((Nikon))) - appears like someone positioned a bee on your bonnet with a number of your questions those days... 2 responses to this: a million) Jesus suggested in Matthew 9:12 "that is not the healthful those who desire a health practitioner, that is the unwell who're in favor of a health care professional." If Jesus suggested unwell human beings might want to bypass to the health practitioner, who am I to argue with Him? 2) Why then do not you ask why Christians do not play football on the parkway? If that is their time to die, that is their time to die, perfect? i believe God gifted everyone with particular abilities and presents to percentage with others. a number of those presents observe to the sphere of medication. Why would not i take great thing concerning the presents that God gave to someone if it would want to provide me extra time with my spouse and kinfolk? Eternity is a lengthy time period. Peace, bill

Because we're still human beings. Just because we believe in God and we want to go live in Heaven and be with God forever doesn't mean we want to die immediately. We have family that we love and want to see and be with and vice versa. I'm jumping up and down waiting on Jesus to come back but I want to live as long as I possibly can. That's just part of being human.

Some do embrace death. When we mourn at a death we mourn for ourselves or their lack of salvation. Despite placing God first in our lives we do have ties to this world. Children grandchildren. We do not want them to have pain. We are ultimately to seek God's will. God can give us a tremendous peace despite the pain and suffering. Who are we to decide that it is time to die.
Colossians 1
24Now I rejoice in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.
Paul rejoiced in the suffering he went through for the sake of others.

I'm sure for those Christians that believe in both heaven AND hell - it seems logical for them to fear. It's not likely they'll get to judge themselves.

Because we cherish life. We don't want to say goodbye to our loved ones. We want the ride to continue as much as anyone else. Plus, it doesn't matter if you are saved or not, the unknown is frightening.

God's gift to us is life. We enjoy life just as anybody else.

When God is ready for us to go home He'll take us, there will be no medicine or treatments that will help.
