Many people are distressed because they do not know how to believe in God. If you are one of those people, read these instructions; they may help.
Steps
1. Read the Bible. This is the simplest and most effective way to find God. Find a time every day or as often as you can to read the Bible; you will find yourself reaching out beyond yourself.
2. Question yourself. Question the universe. If there is no God, how did we get here? No one knows exactly, but the best answer (and the true one) that we have come up with is God.
3. Start going to a some sort of church. Go to a Bible study group or plain old Sunday School. Listening to other people talk about God will help you with your relationship with Him.
Tips
* The NIV version of the Bible is the most popular one; I would suggest using it (at least to start out.) It is one of the easiest to understand.
Warnings
* Religion can be very confusing. Whatever you do, do not give up striving to find God. It will pay off someday!!!
Things You'll Need
* Perseverance
* Faith in yourself (ending in faith in God)

You only need to convince when it is not real or you are trying to get someone to believe something without personal experience.
No convincing is needed. You can experience God directly - through personal experience.
Then you know God is real. As to how to find God to experience God...look.
But you must look at what you expect to find...what you expect could be why you have not found. God does not conform to your expectation.

Read
Every effect has a cause
the universe didn't used to exist
It exists now
something caused it to exist
The causing agent had to have more energy than the entire universe
we call that God
These are all facts.
Now the question remains "Is God an active part of your life"

There is evidence of God in nature. The night sky, a waterfall, a dragonfly, flowers, the workings of your own body, a rainstorm, etc.

Ask him to straighten your faith and he will show you the answers your need. If you doubt in your heart all the time read about St. Thomas. Read the New Testament and open your heart.
