Will I have to put my mp3 player in the trunk and just let it play, or can I use the controls on my dash to change songs, etc?

Also I wanted to be able to use a the car charger to keep the MP3 charged and powered, but would I be able to do that with those AUX hook ups attached?

Yes, they work. If you want to keep the MP3 player up front, leave the wires bundled together behind the dash, then you can run your cable from the MP3 player to the adapter. You cannot use your head unit to control your MP3 player.

The aux adapter running from the factory head unit has nothing to do with the cigarette lighter outlet, so you can still use it to charge the player.
