I got rid of everything unhealthy around the house and replaced it with healthy foods. If they're not readily available, the battle is much easier. Weight Watchers has a pretty good selection of cakes, etc. Try fat-free choices of your favorites to start off and replace as many junk foods with fruit as possible. It takes some getting used to, but it's definitely worth it. Good luck!

Be Prepared. That's the best way to start beating the junk food addiction. When you go out you probably stock up on things for your baby to eat, right? So, also stock up on things for yourself- a bag of sunflower seeds, a lunch cooler with some baby carrots and a piece of fruit, grapes or raisins, bottled water, some healthy trail mix, etc.

When you go to the grocery store shop for quick healthy snacks you can tote and go without much hassle. Or once a week bag things up in little bags for each day.

Driving past the fast food strip the first few times will be challenging and you'll have to bite the bullet, but over time it will get easier.

If you must go to a fast food joint get a salad rather than a burger and fries.

You really don't want to model fast food eating to your baby!

I had the same problem. I love chocolate and chips and fattening stuff. Try some 100-calorie packs of chips and cookies. I also just bought Wheat Thins Lightly Cinnamon. They are really good. Rice cakes have come a long way, as well. I like the Cinnamon Sugar and Apple Cinnamon ones. Cheetos and Doritos now come in 100-calorie packs. Rold Gold makes really good Honey Wheat pretzels. Also, if you're drinking regular soda, try switching to diet. It may take awhile to get used to, but soon that can of 0 calorie goodness will be a lifesaver. I love the Diet Sunkist and Coke Zero. The Coke Zero tastes just like regular Coke. Also, if you go to most fast-food websites, you can always find something that isn't terrible for you on their menu. I do Weight Watchers, and I can have a hamburger and fries at McDonald's for less points than a Lean Pocket. I made a list of good-for-me options at all the places I might run into on the road. I keep it in my purse for emergencies. Lastly, just try to watch portion sizes. I bought some clearance Easter candy, and I can have some everyday, so long as I stick to a serving. I've learned that two dark chocolate eggs for one point really do satisfy my sweet tooth.

Put that babe in a stroller and get moving for a walk. Every time you go out, walk faster and longer. Even if your eating habits stayed the same you could likely lose weight since your metabolism will pick up.. Start replacing the junk with more healthy stuff like fruits, whole grain crakers and even stuff like popcorn. Just remind youself that the baby will be eating more and more people food as he gets older, and it will be so much better to introduce him to the "good stuff" right from the start, and not have the gunk in the house. Good luck.

oh man my son is 17 months and i have the same problem haha... I have recently lost 10lb and im so proud of myself... I craved junk food for the last couple years... everything in modification! I love fresh fruit its so good just everything in modification... like chips.. measure out a serving size in a bag.. and excersize... i know its hard when you have a little one... I go to school full time and im a single mom... just schedule trips to the mall or a park where you can get in some walking and your son has stuff to look at... i was always so tired and didnt want to load the stroller and everything but little walking here and their adds up in the end! I also cut out all the soda and only drink diet and I love iced tea w/ artificial sweetner! I wrote you like an essay but I really understand where your coming from! good luck!

Whatever she wants... It's hard to change anyone's habits; you have to want it yourself. If she does, try taking a small amount out of the bag, and putting it on a plate, putting the bag away, and eating it at the table without reading, watching tv, or talking to someone, means you pay attention to what you are eating, and feel more satisfied, without eating a lot. Air popped (not microwaved with butter and stuff) popcorn is very healthy too. As for fruits and veggies, have her try just small amounts of the more popular ones, like apples, oranges, berries. The rule your mother (should have) taught you as a small child, 'Take three bites before you say you don't like it', is appropriate here.

I know what it's like believe me, my little sister doesn't eat anything besides McDonald's and pasta.
There are lots of healthy foods kids enjoy,
start by adding a little vegetables to your meals.
replace french fries with mashed potatoes, a hamburger with a little piece of steak and salad on the side...
