Is it this warm and fuzzy feeling you get?

I've been going through some christian sites looking for 'miraculous' events and they all seemed to be open for multiple explanations. What is it that makes you go 'miracle' and not 'coincidence'?

Why do people pray in front of a highway underpass that has a stain that looks like the virgin Mary?

You can't explain stupid

I've been miraculously healed.

I was 5, and had a hernia. Our family medical practitioner had diognosed it (I can get his name if you like). I was going to have to have an operation, which was to be scheduled in the relatively near future - a couple weeks from that point. I remember being scared, and wanted to test the hernia thing to be sure, and tried lifting a brick - which I couldn't. I couldn't run or walk comfortably either.

I was prayed over during a prayer meeting. A short time after I didn't feel any pain. We went to see the doctor to either confirm the healing, or to schedule the surgery. He couldn't find any sign that I had had a hernia. From that point forward, I didn't show any signs of the previous hernia, with annual sports physicals checking for this very thing. There aren't, and there haven't been any signs of my past injury. This doctor, as far as I recall, wasn't a 'believer'.

People look for miracles, and hope and pray for them as well. Some times God works miracles, sometimes not. Some are big, and some are small. Some folks don't look for miracles, and God blesses them with a miracle. I believe a miracle is something that cannot be explained as having happened without super-natural influence.

There are any number of claimed miracles that aren't miracles, and do have other explainations, or are just completely fraudulant.

Personally, I view the claimed miracles with skepticism, while knowing that God will do what He pleases, when He pleases.

The difference between miracle and coencidence is all in the hand of God! God stamps his miracles specialy and if you look hard inside your mind and your soul you will see his stamp of Love right there! For example, my favorite football team did'nt make it to the SuperBowl last year. That is nothing to do with God but with skill. I met a guy I haven't seen since parochial school last week. That is a coencidence. We both lived in the same town but had'nt run into each other since back then! BUT, 5 months ago, my daughter was born with 3 ears. THAT is a miracle! Two on the right side of her face which some people might consider weird or ugly but she is 1 out of 100,000,000! It looks just like an ear and everything, just theres no hearing in it. The dr. wanted us to have it surgicaly removed but we would never put a baby through surgery! It would have to be surgery because the third ear is attached to the ear drum of the other one on the right side. GOD gave her that 3rd ear as a miracle and we know because things like miracles dont happen often and they are easy to tell when they do! We will teach her to love everything God made her and I bet the other children will be jealous that she has something so miraculious that makes her different!

Impossible to do so.

In Lourdes, France, many many miracles were reported after an apparition of the Virgin Mary appeared to a girl there. In the 1950's, a Medical Review Board was established, to verify the medical issues and veracity of the alleged "miracles" at the site.

Lo and Behold - since 1950....not a single miracle. OPPS!

Christians believe that the power of miracles comes from God who is beyond the universe. The nature of the miracles are that they are wonders, which inspire awe in to se who see them because they are astonishing. The word sing tells the purpose of miracles: they confirm God's message and His messenger.

The theological dimension of this definition is that miracles imply that there is a God beyond the universe who intervenes in it. Morally, because God is good, miracles only produce and/or promote good.

We have several reasons to reject the evidence for any miracle: a) There is never a sufficient number of witnesses of good character b) Human nature is to exaggerate and find wonder in things c) Miracles abound among the ignorant d) Miracles have a self-canceling nature.

I believe in miracles. I believe God is behind them : )

You can't. If you validate a miracle it will cease to exist.

God works through natural processes not poofs of smoke

You have to admire Gunning4Jesus. He is willing to let his child go through a life time of torment, constant teasing and bullying, just because he doesn't want his kid to have surgery.

The miracle or curse of God?

The term 'miracle' is just a way to label, simplify, and explain the unexplainable.

Mel Tari wrote about walking on water, endless food from one loaf of bread, healing, etc.

These miracles all written in the book "Like a Mighty Wind".

It takes faith to believe in miracles.

But I can suggest the first one:

Go look in the mirror.

There is no one on the earth like you.

And if you are able to do so, ask your mother if she considers you a miracle.

By definition, none of them can be validated, but they must be accepted on faith. If you have faith, then you should automatically believe whatever you are told. if you do not have faith, then by definition miracles cannot be validated.
