Many contemporary "Athiests" are those who have studied organized religion and feel the concept of God is wrong, so they might be pure Monotheists who deep down dont really believe that God is the Polytheistic Trinity....

I don't think most orthodox Christians will agree that the concept of the Trinity is the same as polytheism. However, I believe that people who follow the Bible as their religious template will say that atheism and polytheism are equally corrupt since they do not believe in the "one true God".

In your statement you say that Atheist are more spiritually sound... The Atheists do not believe in any spiritual being creating us, so NO they are not more spiritualy sound... But it depends on how you flip the coin... If you mean spiritaul aound by means of not being confused about gods, than i guess they would...
