Do you think people really feel better about themselves by putting a complete stranger down or do you think they might be a tad jealous and try to make the person feel bad about them self in some way?
I asked a question a few min ago to which a woman answered "ms BLONDE WOMAN YOU TURN ON THE AUTOMATIC UPDATES" completely rude....I see alot of this happening in here, and for the life of me can't figure out what makes a person want to answer so rudely, arrogantly, and show what a wretched person they really are? What do you think?

I don't take any of these "insults" personally...I was just curious what people thought drove others to act this way....I see it so often in here, and I think of young impressionable people being on here, that could be just unstable enough for that one last insult to be the straw that broke the camels back....so why, would anyone want to intentionaly cause any insecurity in another person... it makes no sense to me.

I feel people who try to make others feel bad are very insecure about themselves and need to stop and look at their life. If you can't say anything nice don't say nothing. If you don't know the person stop being a HATER!!!!! Seek help it's all over.

Yes, people are rude, they used to get on my nerves too, but it stopped bothering me so much by the time I was at level 3 or 4. I think you should get over it, I'm surprised you haven't already being that you are level 6, you know being on Y!A for so long. I just try to ignore the rude people or else it will keep bothering me. Plus, sometimes it hurts to hear the truth, especially when it is not sugar coated.

In the first place, not knowing the question, I can't figure out from the response whether this is an insult or not.
Secondly, the answerer does not know you, therefore it can't be personal.
Thirdly, even if the answerer does know you, it's only an insult if you want it to be.

Y!A is definately an ego booster, even if you aren't rude. You get a kick out knowing you know something useful. If you are on long enough, some people might get full of themselves and post answers that are rude.

mmmm thats a hard one, some people 'flame' to vent frustration, you see contrary to popular beleif there are are such things as stupid questions as well as stupid people (im not talking about you)

sometimes people ask questions that they really should be able to figure out for themselves but are too lazy, other times answerers just want to let off a bit of steam cause answering so many questions is exhausting and a bit of fun is always on the cards, the trick is to not take it personally, you can be flamed by somone who may be helpful later on, its just a bit of fun! there are a few aholes but you just ignore them.

I think most of the time they are having a bad day and use YA as stress relief to yell at some poor person!

it would seem that those who are not the bravest in person beleave that the net provides them a level of anonymity, in which they can act or be any way that they please with oput fear of reprecussions

case in point, The closeted racist, they can feel free to express thier mostly unpopular opinions and get no level of discontent in there personal lives, where as if they do the same publicly they may lose connection with those whom they are closest with

You'll never know who the person is because they are safe and "tough" behind their pc. Also, they know something you don't since you asked a question. Ignore them - they are little people

well I suppose it's because it's so easy to do it online, you have to be more careful offline because you can see people's feelings being hurt, whereas online sometimes you forget there's actually a person behind that computer.
some people do it for a laugh though, coz it's fun seeing somebody get wound up. :P
