For as long as I can remember I have had a runny nose. It runs nearly every day, regardless of season or whether I have a cold, and the discharge is clear and very watery. I have noticed that it runs more when it's colder - like the moment I step outside if it's a brisk day. I do have allergies - pollen, grass, etc - but they usually aren't debilitating. Why the constant runny nose?? I am tired of wiping my nose all the time!

2. Seriously, get a referral to a good otolarynologist -- a doctor who ear, nose, throat, and head & neck disorders. These doctors are qualified to diagnose whether your problem is due to allergies or acute sinusitis.

have you been tested for allergic rhinitis? that could be a cause - don't know if you take any allergy medications but maybe you should try some different ones, see if they help - i take claritin (loratadine, 10mg) 1x day and that makes a world of difference. call your dr too, get them to refer you to an ENT (ear, nose, throat) specialist.

Dairy? It's very common to be sensitive to dairy. It could be dairy.
It could be dust or dust mites in your home are irritating your sinuses.
It could be an indoor dry environment.

I knew a man once that was constantly treated for allergies and the runny nose got much worse and they finally took a diabetic strip and tested the fluid for glucose (sugar) and it came out positive...it was brain fluid...and a brain tumor...get some strips and test it just to be safe...probably a fairly rare circumstance..
