My dad has been having a problem lately where he cannot burp and be relieved. Well, today it's gotten worse and now it hurts in his stomach or chest...and he's taken some things to help him burp but nothing has helped. He says it's better but the thing is he needs to burp. Does anyone know what this could be or the name? I've only looked on WebMd but I'm still not sure. Thanks for any help.

Acid Reflux will cause this. He should speak to his doctor. Nexium works great for this. As a temporary home remedy, cut up a few pieces of ginger (use a piece the size of your thumb) and brew it on the stove with a cup full of water for five minutes on medium heat. Sweeten with sugar, honey or other sweetener and he will get relief. Long term, he will still need medication to help his stomach to heal.
