do they realy show up right after ya shave? i have the same prob. its called kerittosis polaris(sounds like carrottosis) and polaris like the 4-wheeler. it is a pluged hair follical. and shaving will cause them to turn red. its just a spot cause by the hair not being able to go through the skin because it is locked by dry dead skin cells. to prevent you need to take cool baths and showers and moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. right after you get out of bath or shower before you even dry off you need to lotion up. this will trap any water on your skin and suck it in with the lotion. your dermotologist can perscribe a lotion for you. and you DONT want to exfoliate cause this too will irrate it also. lotion lotion lotion

Exfoliate exfoliate exfoliate! St. Ives makes a great apricot scrub. Maybe you should use the medicated one because it's got salicylic acid in it and that is another good exfoliant. Try doing it a few times a week.

After you scrub, you should always moisturize with something that doesn't have fragrances or dyes so that you don't get your bumps back.

Hope this helps!

try chaning your body wash. make sure to use body wash not soap which is too drying, soap is about the same as putting detergent on your body. get a body wash and a body scrub. rinse and apply a new lotion( nivea is good) after the shower. also change the direction that you shave in. this affects how the hair grows. good luck.

Try not wearing to tight jeans and sweat in them, and around the house wear cheerleading shorts to let them breath!!!

Also make sure you use a sharp clean razor, and gently exfoiliate before shaving, and use PLENTY of shaving cream, the more you use the more you protect your skin!!!! I just buy cheap mens shaving cream so that I can use more without being frugal!

ahh! I get them, too.

But, I take a warm/hot shower, so the steam can open up my hair follicles on my legs, and if I can see the hair, i pluck it! usually, it doesn't hurt.

but yeah, lotion helps... because those get so itchy!
