Depends what the poison was. Symptoms may include vomiting, lethargy, high temperature, seizures, tremors, salivation, hyperactivity, diarrhoea, bleeding from the gums or back passage, loss of conciousness, dilated pupils or even sudden death.

If you suspect your cat has been poisoned you need to at least phone the vet for advice. If you think s/he's been poisoned and is displaying ANY of the above symptoms, you need to take her to the vets immediately.

Since these symptoms are fairly generalised, they can be signs of any other illness that requires veterinary attention.

There are many signs. The most obvious thing would be if something was upsetting her stomach, she'd definitely vomit. The cat might become lethargic and sluggish, if the poison is slow. If the poison is fast, like cyanide, the cat would just drop dead literally. You weren't really clear on WHAT poisoning it would be. What was the cat poisoned with? If it was the infected food, kidney failure could come about. If you are worried that your cat is poisoned, take him/her to the vet ASAP. Hope this helped. The answer was a little vague. Didn't have much to write about...

Well, my cat was poisoned by antifreeze and she staggered like a drunk for awhile and it only takes days before they go into kidney failure and die. I don't know about other poisons. But If you think your cat has been poisoned get her to a vet immediately it literally can mean life and death for them.
