My daughter did it too..... what I did, was brought a sippy cup into the bath with her. It would float there, and it as more interesting then any of her toys (plus the water ends up being the same temperature as the bath water, which I think is the most interesting thing to them!) Also, how is she drinking the water, from a toy boat or cup she is playing with? if so, I would suggest getting toys that are porous, have holes, so that the water is gone out the bottom before she gets it to her mouth. You really don't want her drinking the bath water, especially if there is bubble bath in there!

Both of my kid's did this every time they took a bath for years....my husband would always get so freaked out about it and get on to them, but they would do it next time they were in the tub anyway. I always figured that they are exposed to way more germs sitting in a shopping cart holding the handle, or playing on a playground, etc... than drinking their own tub water. I remember drinking the water when I was little, and I am certainly fine. Pick your battles, this one is not worth the fight.

If you start shouting or telling her not to do it, she will probably do it more. Be calm, and softly and seriously explain to her that all the dirt falls in that water, and it is dirty and disgusting to drink it. She will stop eventually. Or maybe start giving her showers instead of bath, but be careful so that she doesn't fall in teh bath tub.

my daughter loves drinking the bath water.
have checked with the doctor, and showed him what bath stuff we use, and he cant see a problem with it.
apparently, alot of kids bath stuff is designed with kids drinking the water in mind.
so i wouldnt stress too much. if we keep her distracted with her toy duck, or her little boats, suddenly the bath water doesnt seem important.
fight on brave warriors! am not sure who is raising who sometimes!

its just a way for her to explore, and practice being a 'grown up'
does it really matter is she drinks it? even with bubble bath - it isnt dangerous - just make sure you supervise to prevent choking.
maybe offer a drink before she gets in the abth - maybe shes telling you she is thirsty
try to divert from drinking it to pouring it into a different container?
my son did it till he was about 2 and got bored of it!

I would slap her upside the head every time she does it. She'll learn...
