my dad has type 2 and he has to use insulin hes had it for 14 years and as it goes on its harder to control because u become resitent to the insulin, pills, ext and you need to watch your suger levels. you may develop neuropathathy in you feet and hands. if you take proper care or urself you may live longer then the docters first expected, the told my dad he wouldnt live to see me go to kindergarten and i am now in 8th grade and he is still alive and doing good. so yes if you dont take proper care of yourself it is deadly. i myself also has a type of dibetes. there is more then just type 1&2 there is also pre dibetes and a where your body makes more insulin then needed.

Poor diet, excess weight and having a family history of the disease can be the causes. If managed improperly (eating a diet high in carbohydrates, for example), yes, diabetes can kill you. If a person is diagnosed with diabetes, they MUST maintain a low carb diet, drink plenty of water, follow some sort of exercise regimen and take medication. Hope this answers your question.

Diabeties is a killer , but indirectly, with a generous amount of other desases, poor diet usually causes it, you body has the inability to burn fat, so it stores it, most diabetics if not heavey will battle weight problems after being with it for a few years. there is 2 types, type ONE inject insuline, and type TWO manage with diet and pills, get a glucose metre and see what level you are, diabetics usually have a hard time regulating blood surgar % normal should be 5.5 its not uncomon to see blood sugar levels in the teens. Managed properly and you can have a fairly normal life, truth is the older you get the harder it is to manage. so please take care of your self see a doctor and talk to a dietition ASAP
