All you can do is ignore those type of women. Apparently, they think they are still in high school. Don't be rude about it. Just say "hi" and "bye." When you give them more attention then they are suppose to, they'll take it the wrong way. Even though they are your co-workers doesn't mean you have to get to know them personally when you don't want to. Besides, it is best to stay out of their drama. Also, if you do end up "listening" into their "conversation," just space out on them. If the topic doesn't interest or concern you, you don't have to pay attention. That is how I live my life and I honestly don't care what those women say about me. I rather be happy with myself than be around fakes.

My experience is quite different from yours. I have found the all-female workplace to be more efficient, runs more smoothly, has little or no backstabbing/drama and a lot of respect and support for the individual. This all changes as soon as a male gets hired. (It's a job with high staff turnover). Drama begins, cliques and resentment appear, people start making mistakes or not doing their jobs and the system starts breaking down. This persists until an all-female staff occurs again, and then things settle down.
THIS IS NOT MALE BASHING. Men and women work in different ways, and in my small experience I have found that women work better together without men. And we've had some female employees that created the same kind of crisis.
So in the end its maybe not the gender but the personalities that count.
As for dealing with what you described, each of us has a responsibility to be tactful with and supportive of our co-workers. I just keep doing as much of that as I can and wait for the storm to pass. It always does!

yes,i faced the SAME problem at work and even in neighbourhood.it left me with a deep dislike for all women in general.they just dont seem to shut up,or talk some sense.their favourite topics are husband, children,in laws and fashion.and the bacbiting they do...!their lunching together is especially very irritating.
for this reason i used to keep to myself, did not carry my lunch, and spoke very politely but as little as possible.
enduring this stuff is a torture on my nerves...
yes i hav heard many men too encounter this problem, but usually women are nicer towards men and vice versa so they dont feel the heat so acutely.
take care not to offend them out rightly as u can imagine ,u will be giving them nice juicy stuff to spit and ***** around against u.it is best to be polite with them and diplomatically avoid them instead of letting them know of yr feelings.
my experience- hese creatures are more dangerous than some other species on earth..

That would be stupid, and how would anyone know who caused the man to have a hard on? If he were to actually harass the woman, i.e continuously making crude comments towards her, following her or making some sort of physical advances towards the her, it then would be different. But simply getting a little stiff is no ground for harassment charges at all, as they guy hasn't done anything intentionally wrong.

Some women have to be catty because that is all they know. You are doing the right thing going solo, just be careful you do not alienate yourself completely. Then you become the topic of their gossip. I also work in an office full of women and I experience the same thing, I just smile and say "oh okay". Taking sides is dangerous.

I used to work in a clothing shop in a Las Vegas mall. All my co-workers were female. It was one of the most annoying jobs in my life. All the girls were very cliquey and would talk about other girls behind their backs. I try to be nice to everybody and not spread rumors. Quite miserable. Now I work at a job in a department where I am the only girl and I absolutely love it. It's great working with guys.

It's because women are naturally catty. In most situations, it's better not to put a bunch of women together in a high-stress situation like that, because they will tend to get snippy towards each other.
Also, to be honest...most women are emotional basket cases. Saying this might offend some women, but for the most part, it's 100% true. I'm just willing to admit it.

Some women are just like that. They think they have to tell everything they know to make someone like them, when in reality they are only showing how immature they are. They are desperate for attention, desperate to be liked, and afraid of not having any friends!
I almost forgot......The best thing you can do is stay out of it!
