Before making a decision based on previous answers you need to remember that not everyone has the same type of skin. A product that may work on your best friend, may not work on you. That's why you always see things like 85% of users said that it cleared their acne within so many days. The other 15% may have different skin which is why the product didn't work for them. It also explains why there are mixed reviews on Proactive.
I'm in my mid 30's and use Proactive religiously as it is the only thing that keeps my skin acne free. My teenage daughter on the other hand has different skin therefore Proactive doesn't work for her. She prefers to use Clinique products that are sold at major department stores. My husband who is also in his 30's can't use either product so he uses an oil control product by Revision. When it comes down to it the only way to determine which is product is right for your skin is trial and error. The Proactive website does offer a 30 day sample set for $19.95. Try it, if it works great, if not move on to another product.

You know something? I researched acne online one night when I decided I had to do something about mine, and I discovered all this great stuff. I wondered why doesn't anyone ever hear of this? First of all, for lots of people ProActive is a hoax. For some, it even pulls out their acne and tears up their face! (If you're a sensitive-skinned)
So, instead, guess what I found out? Use hydrogen!! The cheap bottle of 50 cents hydrogen peroxide I can get at the Dollar Store works just fine. Soak a long piece of tissue with it, until completely drenched, and apply over the entire affected area (I do it all over my face). Let it stay on for at least ten minutes (I do 15-20). Now, when you take it off, your skin will be bleached white, and the blemishes will look awful- but give it time! Do this twice a day, and mine have disappeared into tiny skin spots from just THREE DAYS using it. You may have to use moisturizer, though, if you're skin is sensitive, and while you have the tissue on it will burn and itch.
Hope this helps!

it does work, but only because the main ingredient is benzoyl peroxide. The same ingredient that many of the drugstore acne medications have. The reason proactiv works so well, is that people believe it will work ,and thus they use it more often and make it a routine. If you got say, the product ZAPZYT from the drug store for $4.00 would you use it as diligently? If so, then use it instead of wasting your money.

it doesn't work. my brother has acne and he got the whole system. it didn't clear up his skin at all. and he used it just as directed. my cousin get's very few pimples and though it would be a good thing to try. it didn't help her either. i think it's a waste of time and money. if you notice the celebs that promote it have little to no acne. they zoom in on the one zit that they had. they don't even have skin problems so i don't think they can really say that this product is effective.

all I can say is you need to try it for yourself to find out. it seems that everyone reacts to it a different way. i used it for 2 months and it made my acne MUCH worse. however, it works great for one girl i know. the reason i used it for two months was b/c they said it usually gets worse after the 1st month but the 2nd month is when it clears up. for me, that did not work. they usually have a 20 dollar special for the first time you get it. so try that, and if it doesn't work, cancel it and they won't send you anymore.

great It’s going to work. Don’t take that road that I took for a while and stay home and say, ‘Nothing’s going to work for me. I am going to have to live with this for the rest of my life. I’d better get used to it.’ Don’t do that. Don’t give up. There is a product. Proactiv is going to get you results. I absolutely swear by Proactiv. It’s absolutely fabulous."
take care:-)

The first time I used it, I LOVED it. My face cleared up and I hardly recognized myself in pictures! (You know how pictures always bring out zits that you can't see) I stopped using it after a while b/c I couldn't afford to buy it anymore so the zits came back :( A few months later, when I tried again it did nothing for me.

It depends on the kind of person. For me I use it and I LOVE it. My friend uses it and she got good results at first and it doesn't work on her again. But you will never know if it will work for you unless you try it. Take advantage of their 60 day money back guarantee plan. Good luck =]

Pro-Active works great! I was sceptical about trying at first. I am glad that I did. My skin looks and feels so much better. I get compliments on it all of the time.
