The relationship was not adulterous it was miraculous and He did not create Jesus He already "was" (see John 1:1).

And, “14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:14 (KJV)

The founder of Christianity may very well have been Joseph. He is considered a saint. Maybe the first Christian Saint. As far as I know, his brief part in the story is mostly about accepting, and possibly forgiving. I can think of a parrallel relationship in the garden of Eden. As the story goes, Adam's wife was beguiled. And Adam went with her, out of the Garden.

It never ceases to amaze me that people with no religious inclinations whatsoever spend so much time, energy, gut burn and fictionalization techniques to put down something that has never hurt them at all and has no plans to do so. In fact the opposite is true - Christians would be happy to explain what we believe to those that don't understand. I guess that the flame-thrower usage gives them a certain satisfaction but I assure you, it does no good at all. May God bless you.

exactly. Another 500 (five HUNDRED) years and the Catholic church will officially admit that the words don't translate as "virginal" but merely "chaste" or having had sex only in a religiously permissible manner. And then all those people who say "if God said it, it must be true" will immediately "simply believe some other impossible thing" with more fervor having freed up all those impossibility belief neurons.

And no, I'm not picking on Catholics, all churches are the same but the Catholic church apparently changes over time (look at evolution and limbo).

Edit: Eartha - involuntary? Did God ask? Are we talking rape here?

I think you need to explain yourself a little better. God did not choose an adulterous relationship to create Jesus.

That is not true in the least.
First of All, Mary was a young girl and an unmarried Virgin.
Joseph was also unmarried...there was no adultery involved.

Adultery=voluntary sexual intercourse between a married man and someone other than his wife or between a married woman and someone other than her husband

God chose a relationship of purity to create his son...the interesting thing is your choice to see evil in that.

It does make you wonder does it not?

God made all the rules when He built this place, then proceeded to break the rules of 'nature' to get our attention. Every miracle, including the Virgin Birth that you mock with your foolish question keeps you talking about Him.

Emmanuel...Thank God He is with us!

"adulterous?"
They were engaged.
In those days, engagements were alot more serious things than today. You may have read in Matthew 1:19....
"Joseph her husband, because he was righteous and did not want to make her a public spectacle, intended to divorce her secretly."

Why do you suppose you forgot the many, many verses that say Jesus was born of a virgin?
