Yes, I do. Unfortunately, many married people (often unhappy in their own marriages) often like to point out the singleness of others as some kind of curse.
Single people are lonely at times, but they often have a wide assortment of close and casual friends and seem to have an understanding of things that married people don't just seem to get.

Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 7:7-8, “I wish everyone could get along without marrying, just as I do. But we are not all the same. God gives some the gift of marriage, and to others he gives the gift of singleness. Now I say to those who aren't married, and to widows – it's better to stay unmarried, just as I am.” Notice that he says some have the gift of singleness, and some the gift of marriage. Although it seems that nearly everyone marries, it is not necessarily God's will for them. Paul, for example, did not have to worry about the extra problems and stresses that come with marriage and/or family. He devoted his entire life to spreading the Word of God. He could not have been such a useful messenger to all of us if he had been married.

The apostle Paul did not marry. In fact, he talks about marriages in Corinthians I (ummm somewhere in there like chapter 7-11 or so). To summarise his message, it is good to be married and it is also good not to marry. Because being married, means you've safe guarded yourself from burning with desire. Instead of lusting after women, you'll have your own wife to satisfy your need. But if you were stronger and do not need to marry, you get to serve God wholeheartedly (which is what Paul did). So it is actually a great blessing to be able to serve God without having to serve a wife. The single man's concern is with God, the married man's concern is with his wife.
But don't worry! This does not mean God will intentionally make you single when you know in your soul you need a significant other. The point is, God knows your need and will not deprive you of a wife if you absolutely cannot live single.

God says if you can go without being married that is good, because you can focus on your relationship with God fully without having to focus on someone elses needs. I think some people just have to get married but God still uses them, but God works mightily through the unmarried!

God gives mankind free will. Yet in the bible 1Timothy 3:
outlines the requirements to be a minister. He is to be a husband of one wife. Moderate in all things. So his ministers are recommended to be married.
1 Corinthians 7:2 Let each man have his own wife.
Then he went on to say because some were not able to get wives or husbands that it was okay to be single.
Perhaps even a gift, then they could devote more time to god.
He was just saying that it was okay whatever you choose to do. We are given free will and some choose not to marry.
He was saying that is okay if that is your choice.
but a minister must be married.

I was once married to someone that God should have spared me from as a gift but I do not think he does things that way. Although you know they say some people are not meant to have children so I suppose the same would apply to spouses.

God chooses whom he pleases, it is our free choice to marry or stay single but at times God calls some to serve His church by the gift of the single vocation and gives every grace needed to develop this vocation but it is still our choice to do so, and to those who marry He also provides His grace.

No, people who are single are usually not interested in having a girlfriend, like I was for maybe 3 years. Mine was by choice, and I enjoyed it. As far as god is concerned, well, there is no god.
