I'm not sure what you may be referring to - but read James 2. "Faith without works is dead."

Also read Romans "Abraham was justified by faith." His faith was a working/obedient faith.

That verse is in the book of James, (2:14) however, it is often misused to say that salvation is through works. The book was written to believers, so it assumes that all are believers already.
What James is showing is that one cannot just "say" he is a believer. If one is a true believer, actions follow. One's works cannot achieve perfection, which is the standard for heaven, therefore one NEEDS a savior (Jesus Christ). The gratitude that one feels, because of the GIFT he has received, SHOULD result in good behavior to please the one the believer loves (Christ). But it doesn't EARN him anything.

The book of Ephesians chapter 2:8-10 tells us that we cannot earn our salvation. We must BE saved to do the work GOD, not us, has prepared for us to do.
For if righteousness could be achieved by the Law, then Christ died for nothing (Galatians 2:21).

Jesus:

Matthew 7:21 “NOT everyone who SAYS to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven. ONLY THOSE WHO DO WHAT MY FATHER IN HEAVEN WANTS WILL ENTER.
22 “Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord! Lord! Didn’t we prophesy in your name? Didn’t we drive out demons in your name? Didn’t we do many miracles in your name?’ 23 Then I will tell them clearly, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who do evil!’

John 14:15 “If you love me, you will OBEY what I command. 16 I will ask the Father. And he will give you another Friend to help you and to be with you forever. 17 The Friend is the Spirit of truth. The world can’t accept him. That is because the world does not see him or know him. But you know him. He lives with you, and he will be in you.

... Most Christians are too busy ARGUING AGAINST James to UNDERSTAND that there is NO CONFLICT between what he wrote AND what Paul wrote AND what JESUS said. When you mention "faith and deeds" their brain immediately jumps to James without really considering what you said.

Jesus DID discuss WORKS and OBEDIENCE, but those passages go against the popular UNDERSTANDING of "faith only" salvation since they DO REQUIRE the follower TO DO SOMETHING.

sunestauromai gave you the verses but don't fall into the trap of thinking that a person cannot be saved if they don't live up to a certain standard of works. Salvation is by grace alone though faith alone and when a person asks Jesus to save them they start on the path of a new life where the Holy Spirit will guide them into good deeds that God has prepared in advance for them to do and will turn them away from activities that God wants them to abstain from.

Ephesians 2:4 But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, 5 that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) 6 For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. 7 So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.

8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

John 6:35 Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But you haven’t believed in me even though you have seen me. 37 However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them. 38 For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will. 39 And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day. 40 For it is my Father’s will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.”

You are probably talking about James. THE Book of James.

But He is saying, I think, that if you have Christ in your heart, you are not going to WANT to go back to your old ways.
AND that GOOD DEEDS do NOT get you into Heaven.
ONLY Christ gets you into Heaven.

Jesus lied about most of things. Bible is crap.

Every sane person would think so. Unless you believe in talking donkeys.
