Sometime near the end of his career. He has not come right out and said it but I believe that his goal is to be third all-time. 93 race wins would put him solidly in third place (Bobby Allison is tied with Darrell Waltrip for third with 84 wins.). Jeff Gordon as said that he doubts that he will race long enough to pass David Pearson (105 wins). See the link to the story, below.

How long will it take all the other current drivers to surpass the win totals posted by Carolina racers among the all time Top Ten only?
That number is 568 wins. If all other Carolina racer's wins were added, the huge number would easily boggle your mind DOC.
You can add the wins from Buck and Buddy Baker, Junior Johnson, Benny Parsons, Harry Gant, Dale Jarrett, Herb Thomas and Rex White to name just a few.
Just including Johnson and Thomas adds 98 wins to the total.
They don't call Carolina the "Heart of NASCAR" for no reason.
I won't even get into the number of Championships won by Carolina drivers, although I'm certain you would be more comfortable with a much smaller number.

It wont be long. Jeff still has alot of time in his racing career left and I bet he will be racing longer then he thinks he will be because he will always be competitive and he will always win no matter what. He is just that good of a driver. Its funny to listen to people say that Sr. hated Jeff when they were really good friends and Sr. was Jeff's mentor and taught him everything, but you can't teach a kid how to drive they have to know that already, and Jeff has tremendous talent and its just impecable to know that someone has that kind of talent and he will win more championships, not sure how many but I hope its at least 7. Everyone knows that he is going to rewrite the record books so jsut accept it now, and he is rewriting history along wiht that, its just amazing because he is that good of a driver, and no one will ever come close to his talent and or racing ability.

Gordon may get to #3 on Cup wins list, Unlikely he can pass Sr in total NASCAR Wins.
Sr has 76 in Cup, 5 Bud Shootout, 3 Winstons, 13 Qualifiers and 21 Busch wins. 118 Wins,
Gordon will never get close to that.

ummm, in 17 wins. SHould be in about 4 years. Now you have to account for the wins that jr will have at that time so let's just say in about 5 to 6 years.

wow, you can add, congrats! This question is simply idiotic, thats all I can really say...
Oh and I'm sure people other than Dale Jr. fans threw beer cans... Everyone acts like Jr's fans are the only ones that hate Jeff Gordon and thats total BS... Pretty much everyone who isn't a fan of Gordon (or Hendrick Motersports) hates him...
