The stereo in my 2001 Sebring just quits working. Sometimes the station lights will stay on but no music and no buttons or knobs will function. I have to disconnect the battery and it will work again for a couple of days. Any idea? This has me totally stumped.

I'm not certain that this is the problem, but I wonder if the stereo is somehow "resetting" when you disconnect and reconnect the battery.

Something you might try is putting a toggle switch in the power wire in series with the stereo and just turning it off for a minute and then turning it back on so you won't have to keep disconnecting the battery. If you do, be sure to get a switch of sufficiently high current. Auto Zone or another parts store should have some in stock. If for some reason they don't, Radio Shack may have some, but I guess you should specifically look for a DC switch if you go to RS since they have both AC and DC products. I don't think it would actually cause damage to use an AC switch, but one can be more confident of the specifications if one uses a DC product for a DC application.

Good luck.

some deck have a small reset button on the face, if no longer i might unplug the battery then hook it back up, then attempt to eject the cd. if it nonetheless doesnt artwork then the cd eject motor is probably burned so decrease your losses and purchase a extra robust end deck so which you will avert this issue interior the destiny

There's most likely a bad solder joint inside the unit which requires fixing or replacing the unit.
