Pantheism predates Christianity and Buddhism, and is the only religion that makes any sense.

There are religions which are pantheistic, the followers rarely are.. fair enough, but the religions OTOH often pare down quite clearly to Pantheist philosophies.

Pantheism is very rational, but it's following is most likely a result of the effort by the same in studying religious mysteries, like the Bible. Naturalistic Pantheism is not much more than an attempt to extricate the benevolent God being from it's original setting, I see no point.

For a rational mind religion does not feature. I have by far more interesting answers to questions involving the creation of the universe than postulating x, y and z creators/gods to give simplistic answers that are meaningless and answer nothing. X created the universe is not an answer to anything.

No. Just because something is old doesn't make it correct or authentic. We have minds. The longer we're around, the more knowledge we accumulate. We should be able to make better decisions. My new car runs a lot better, operates more safely, and is much more fuel efficient than the first old junker I owned.

It is especially the only one that makes sense if it is the only one you have really thought about.

Think about this... do you really think there are only a few thousand rational people in the world?

Is a rational mind one that believes a rock or a tree is god? If you get caught talking to these things too many times they lock you up, you know.

When you reach that stage of enlightenment, you're quite close to realizing that nature doesn't need to be worshipped.

Take the step over and stop anthropomorphizing natural processes. Atheism makes even more sense.

...assuming you can genuinely call it a religion, rather than a series of metaphors.
