(1) The North York Moors Railway - Pickering to Grosmont, 18 miles + extension over Network Rail tracks to Whitby,(http://www.nymr.co.uk/)

(2) Severn Valley Railway - Kidderminster to Bridgnorth, 16 miles, (http://www.svr.co.uk/)

but the longest is;

(3) West Somerset Railway - Minehead to Bishop's Lydeard, 20 miles (http://www.wsr.org.uk/)

I've given you these three options as you don't say where in the country you are. Check on the websites for timetables and to ensure that there will be steam haulage on the day you decide to visit.

Enjoy!
