In theory you can, but I doubt if you would enjoy it. Most alcoholic drinks would be 5-10% alcohol while the highest alcohol content could go up to 60% but 25% is usually the upper limit. Drinking alcohol is effectively ethanol, which can be poisonous at high concentrations - that means that at 400mg/dl of alcohol found in blood can cause death. Drinking a quarter of a cup of pure alcohol will not only be unpleasant but will most likely cause death as alcohol is readily absorbed by the body. If this does not happen, brain damage, coma and liver damage is highly possible. If ypu want a straight forward answer, I'll say no.

Some "pure" and cheap vodkas in the US have small amounts of additives added such as sugar or other things - see link below. I don't know if the UK permits this at all. Also Everclear is a 95% alcohol sold in the US. I don't know if it's available in the UK. That would be nearly pure alcohol. The other 5%, is it just water? I don't know, if you can find it you could then contact the manufacturer about it. I am willing to bet that it is not the "additives" you're reacting to, but the alcohol. You don't have to have an "allergy" to react to something. For example I react poorly to caffeine but I'm not allergic to it. Just because you can sometimes get away with it doesn't mean that it's not necessarily that. The body can react to certain things sometimes and other times not. The body is a complicated thing and there are so many endless variables within it that can determine reactions to certain things. Perhaps just keep your mind open to this? Or maybe you've already thought it through well... By the way, I'm not sure how to extract alcohol from drinks but I would suspect that any process you could do easily in your home may take not pure alcohol from it but may take traces of the original drink with it. Good luck.

In Russia especially Siberia - people drink pure alcohol for years and nothing wrong happened to their health. Of course, some rules a must be following while dealing with such strong drink. For many Americans, consume raw eggs would be excepted as a punishment but, in Russia, perhaps somewhere else, it's normal. By swallowing raw egg prior to drink pure alcohol, the surface of the mouth, would be insulated by the direct contact with the throat tissue and, of course small amount of alcohol our stomach can easily observe, future the brain would be comfortably satisfied by flowing into the being drank.

YOU CAN NOT DRINK THE PUREST OF ALCHOLE. Please understand Russians don t drink pure alcohol. Any drops of PURE alcohol will kill you. Only scientists and chemists have access to it. My mum is a psychologist and has done a masters degree on drug and alcohol and my dad is a scientist. Take advice from them. You can NOT drink pure alcohol. Pure alcohol is a clear liquid and is extreamily dangerous. Beer has some alcohols but not PURE alcohol. Please understand this. PURE ALCHOLE WILL KILL YOU!

A drink called "Everclear" is about 99% alcohol made from corn. It has hardly any taste. You can drink it, but try only a little, because it can make you sick rather than drunk. College kids sometimes add it to punch that gives a new meaning to spiking the punch.

It IS a silly question to ask if you can drink Everclear because it is much more fun to make Liqueurs out of it. (All Liqueurs are probably made out of it.)
Steep some orange and lemon peels and sugar in it and you have Curacao, pick some mint and boil it with sugar and Everclear and you have Creme de Menthe. Boil up a pot of coffee and mix it with lots of sugar and Everclear and also some vanilla, and you have Kahlua... Much more fun.

Back in 1964 while in the Army we drank Medical Alcohol from the ER in Ft Chaffee. Good stuff, but oh what a hangover. We learned to cut it 4 times or more with water, coke or OJ to get it down. No one died from it, but felt like it the next day! 200 Proof it was!
