In the Christian religion the Trinity is the name given to God who is seen as three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit (sometimes called Holy Ghost in English). The word “Trinity” comes from the Greek word for “three”.
Most Christians worship God in the form of the Trinity. The Trinity is not mentioned in the New Testament. Jesus never talked about it in his teaching. In the Old Testament there are several places where there seems to be evidence for a Trinity. In Genesis we find that God said "Let us make man in our image". Note the plural "our". Later we read that “The Lord our God is one Lord” (Deuteronomy 6:4).
When Jesus came the early Christians had to make sense of the fact that God had come among them through the power of the Holy Spirit. Matthew wrote in his gospel: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). Several things in the gospel of John are often thought to point to a God who is more than just one being. The three persons of God are also mentioned in the second book of Corinthians.
It was several hundred years after the life of Jesus before Christians generally accepted the idea that God was a Trinity. It was a difficult idea, because the Hebrew scriptures talk about God being One. The Greeks and the Romans could only understand Christ as a person who was bringing God’s Word. It was not until the 4th century that the three were thought of as being the three parts of one whole God. This was decided by the Council of Nicaea in 325. By the end of the century all Christians had come to believe in God as a Trinity.
In the 5th century Saint Patrick brought Christianity to Ireland. There is an old Irish legend which says that Patrick used the shamrock to explain the idea of the Trinity. The shamrock has three small leaves. Patrick told the people that the three leaves represented God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He said that the whole plant represented God.
In Christian churches the Sunday after Pentecost (the 50th day after Easter) is called the “Feast of the Holy Trinity”. This feast probably started in the 10th century. In 1334 Pope John XXII made it official for the whole church. In the Anglican and Lutheran churches the weeks that follow The Feast of the Trinity are dated according to how many weeks after Trinity they are (e.g. the 20th Sunday after Trinity). In the Roman liturgy these Sundays are dated “after Pentecoste” (e.g. the 21st Sunday after Pentecoste).

The Trinity, develop into first presented contained in the 4th century even as a council headed through the Roman Emperor concluded that there develop into one God yet 3 diverse persons; because of this end, Malachi Martin, (a Catholic church student and author...he died contained in the early Eighteen Nineties) wrote that there develop into confusion in the Church and Constantine ordered that each one which did not not believe contained in the idea of the Trinity should be hunted and killed. As a Muslim, i do not worry too a lot about the Trinity theory considering that Catholics believe that the Trinity won't be able to be defined; it really is a theory of religion...without reason. I worry extra about Sunnis and Shiias continuously battling hostile to at least one yet another.

Trinity is God in three persons, but then again, you know the concept . I am thinking you want to prove there is no trinity to prove a JW point of view. There is scripture pointing to Trinity but the actual word Trinity is not in the bible. Then again neither is the word Christian, which J.W., Mormon, Unitiarian, and other cults call themselves. They should not call themselves christian since they do not believe the basic fundemental belief that Jesus is Lord and salvation was through Him.

one of the most important teachings of the bible is the concept of the trinity. the belief that God is one God but exist in 3 persons. father, son, and Holy Spirit.,however the bible does not offer an explanation of this concept so much as a presentation of it. It assumes a triune God but does not try to prove "the Trinity. read 2 Thess 2:13, 15. Paul seeks to enrich his readers understanding of their new life in Christ by telling them about works done on their behalf by all three Persons of the Godhead. these same benefits are ours today as believers. 1, The father has selected us for salvation,
loves us and gives us consolation and hope (2 Thess, 2:13, 16.
2. The Son shares his glory with us and provides comfort and stability in the faith*2 Thess. 2:14, 16). and he took all our sins when he was crucified, so that we could be forgiven for our sins. He walked the earth in flesh and experienced almost everything that we do, so he knows how we feel about temptation, and anger, and pain of betrayal and joy, and love.
3, The Spirit purifies (santifies) us and developes our faith (2Thess. 2;13)
As believers we have a powerful, caring, active God working on our behalf. The doctrine of the trinity may be difficult to comprehend,. we can obediently respond to what we know clearly and not dwell on things that are cloudy. one thing we know for sure: Our God is for us in every way. in 2 Corinthians
chap. 5 ver 7-for we walk by faith not by sight.
We assume many roles in our life and each has given us a different name according to the function of that role and yet we each of us are still only person.

The trinity is a poetic attempt to describe the nature of God. It falls short of what it's supposed to be, but it is an attempt.
When I read the Bible, I get certain statements which qualify the three as one God, but three 'persons' for lack of a better word, axiomatically. They are seen at times separately, yet they are stated as all being one. I could show you where in scripture. But if you really want to know that, e-mail me or something.

In Christianity, the doctrine of the Trinity states that God is one being who exists, simultaneously and eternally, as a mutual indwelling of three persons: the Father, the Son (incarnate as Jesus of Nazareth), and the Holy Spirit.

I read a Y!A about this topic a few months ago. She gave lots of examples in nature to illustrate. For example: water can exist in liquid form, solid form and as vapor.
I know this doesn't come close to answering the question, only offered as a way to put your mind around the concept.

Dear Friend,
Your question is based on the teaching of the Holy Trinity, I do not blame you for being confused brother, the Trinity is a teaching of Man, and was not beleived by the early churches or taught by Jesus.
Christ was the son of the one true God. Many people will tell you that they exist as a trinity, but this is simply not true, consider the following scripture.
John 14:28"You heard me say, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
Also
Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they will die,
but the dead know nothing;
they have no further reward,
and even the memory of them is forgotten.
If the Trinity doctrine was true, then who resurrected Jesus when he was dead? and why did Jesus say the father is 'Greater that I'
And concerning the kingdom,
Matthew 24:36
[ The Day and Hour Unknown ] "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
If Jesus was God then why did he not know.
And again, in the book of Mark
The Greatest Commandment
Mark 12:28One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?"
29"The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.[e] 30Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'[f] 31The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[g]There is no commandment greater than these."
32"Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. 33To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."
34When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions.
The lord is ONE/ you are right in saying he is ONE.
1 Corinthians:15:25For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27For he "has put everything under his feet."[c] Now when it says that "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.
This ends the confusion, ' Now when it says that "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.'
If Jesus was God, how could he be made subject to himself?
I urge you to investigate these things for yourself, many Christians will tell you that it is a mystery that we are not meant to understand, Not so! God wants us to understand everything clearly so that we can come to him with accurate knowledge that breeds love.
The bible also says:
Ephesians 3:9and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. 10His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms
"make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God"
The Bible only makes sense without a trinity, because the trinity is a teaching of man?
I hope that this answers your questions brother.
God Bless
Dear IgGodB4Me
The word Christian is in the bible:
Acts 11:26
and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch
Acts 26:28
Then Agrippa said to Paul, "Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?"
1 Peter 4:16
However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.
Mant times
God Bless
