As far as I know a henna tattoo lasts for about 2 weeks (more or less)... it completely goes away UNLESS you get some sort of allergic reaction to it which might cause rashes or swelling... depends really.
I suggest you try getting a really small one on a part that is hidden first. So you can check if your skin is sensitive to it or not.
Why have it tattooed after the henna? Why not have it tattooed instead of henna from the get-go?
Good luck! :)

Henna is safe, it comes off after a couple of weeks. We use it at weddings. The ladies all adorn themselves in magnificent drawings on their hands up to their elbows and feet half way up their calves. Applying Mehndi(Henna) as it is known, a few days before the wedding is a big affair. It is synonamous with Indian traditions and culture. There are different brands of henna, as some keep longer than the other. Remember, henna starts off black, and as it fades, turns red, then pink, then light brown. Enjoy. Look up the history of ancient henna art in India, makes for fascinating reading.

hhhmmm lost of questions..and i have some answers. yes they do completly go away.. its really weird when they first do it its bubbled up you cant touch it or anything untell it completly dries.after it dries it will start peeling and they outside layer with flake off.then the design will stay for about a week..it gradually fades over the days but eventually will go away.. and as far as risks.. its about as small as you writing on your self with a pen.. and alot of tattoo artist probably wouldnt tattoo over it.(it still could be done though).they usally wash the skin off first shave the hair then put the stincil on or hand draw it..and then tattoo ..if you really want it. i would suggest getting it copyied by the tattoo artist first, then when it fades have them put the stincil on and tattoo. doing the henna first is a great way to see if you really would like haveing the tattoo in the same spot or see if you even like that tattoo.. oh and just for a heads up..tattoo artist will charge double for an arm band..they hate doing them.. most places have a 200 or more min for arm bands..even when their tat min is only 50

i got a henna tattoo and it stayed on about 8-10 days. it fade a little everyday and i did not try to scrub it off. it was also probably not a very good henna solution. i think that they are reallysupposed to stay on longer. i know of no problems that could come from it. people have been using henna for centuries i assume, considering its ritual use. i dont know any men or women who have had them, just me.

ye shenna tatts will last a cuople of weeks depending on the quality of the stuff you use. Some cheap nasty henna has lead in it, so make sure you get a quality brand! I dye my hair with henna and it seems to lasts lot longer, but i suppose thats because i wash my hair less. the nonly risk i can see is if you put henna dye in a mustard squeezy pot to dye your hair and the top shoots off when a chunk gets stuck in the nozzle, covering your whole brand new bathroom decor in steaming hot mud.
Now i have to redecorate again. A proper bridget jones moment.

listen be carful with black henna, certain brands have proven to leave some scarring on some people. its safer to go with natural brownish henna, if your afriad of risks stay away from the black henna
