I have a 25' boat now, i had it delivered to the lake, now i wanna pull it out and am worried i will have trouble on the ramp. I dont have 4WD. My boat now weighs 1780 lbs, without the trailer... Not sure what the trailer weighs. Also im looking at buying a new boat that weighs 3000 lbs. Am i in trouble or will i be able to do this with my durango. I dont wanna get in trouble once i'm on the ramp. If it makes any difference I'll be in fresh water not salt.

Have a couple buddies stand on the rear bumper of your Durango as you pull forward slowly and you'll be fine.

(extra weight for traction)

You might have trouble if the ground is wet.... as far as power any of the V-8's in a Durango will pull a 3000 pound boat, I pulled my 51 Buick on a trailer, combined weight of 6700 pounds 400 miles, I have the 360 V-8. You might want to get 4 WD

No Problem! Used to do it with a 1/2 ton Chevy 6cyl. automatic. No need for the extra weight on your bumper. The tongue weight alone will be enough.Happy Boating!

Depends on the ramp, if its taken care of or if silt has moved in and covered it, giving you no traction. It can be done, the biggest factor is the condition of the ramp.
