First, realize that even amoung denominations, many have different forms. Not all methodists are the same. There are more then one group of lutherans, etc... but here is a list.
Then I found this chart. It is on wikipedia, so you could argue how accurate it is, but it is a place to start.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Christian_denominations_by_number_of_members
Also, some titles could be applied to any group, or be a group by itself - such as Charismatics
Then, what IS a denomination. One person above said that Assembly of God is not a denomination. Meriam-websters site, says that denomination is:
a religious organization whose congregations are united in their adherence to its beliefs and practices . Therefore, Assembly of God, but that person's definition IS a denomination. So all of this is debatable.
heck, the only one category I would say is easily identified (again, this is some opinion here) is Catholics. That is mainly due to our Catecism. A BIG old book that lists our beliefs. Combine that with the Bible and you can see where we stand. (I'm going to have to ask if other denominations have such a book.)
Catholics
Luthreans
Anglican
Baptist
Methodist
Protestant (also sometimes used for a generic term for all non-Catholic Christians)
Fundalmentalist
Pietism
Evangelicalism
Pentacostalim
Anabaptists
Unitarianism
Universalism
Assembly of God
Then there is the catchall- NON denominational (which, in my opinion is just a sort-of lie, not wanting to declare yourself. If you match your beliefs up with the groups, you'll find you are pretty much something... but that is debatable.)
Some are questioned if they are actually "Christian" debated by some.
Latter Day Saints
Jehova's Witnesses
I forget the name, but there are some forms of Jew that accepts Jesus as the mesiah, but still also practice Jewish traditions (don't know much about them, but a co-worker of mine was one)
