Unlike some people who find the taste disgusting, I do enjoy a glass of ice-cold buttermilk with salt and pepper mixed in. It's very refreshing. I guess it's an acquired taste.

It is delicious in certain recipes, like pancakes, biscuits, ranch or bleu cheese salad dressings, and soaking chicken overnight for Southern fried chicken.

My parents used to drink it a lot. I prefer using it in recipes. I keep powdered buttermilk to use when I don't want to buy a whole quart.

I like it cold with a pinch of salt. It's also good with a pinch of salt and some chunky pieces of cornbread in it. Eat it like soup or cereal.
Use it to make biscuits, cornbread, pancakes.
