I use to live at my father-in-laws house with my brother-in-law and his girlfriend (it was a full house). One day my B.I.L's girlfriend went up to my husband while I was at work and told him that she thought that I had stolen a sponge from her (yes a sponge, to wash dishes). Ever since that moment I can't not stand the girl, I just thought that it was so petty of her to do that, besides why would I steal a sponge from her? Anyway's it's been 3 years and I can't seem to get over it.....help! Should i be nice to her or just keep ignoring her like I have been for 3 years? There are a few other things that were said and done also, but that was just the icing on the cake.

Wow. That's weird. You know if it's bothering you that much, why don't you talk to her about the things that prevent you two from getting along? Of course, I have people in my life who would totally flip out on me if I tried to do that, even calmly and with tact, so it might just make things worse. If you think this is the case, find someone with whom you can just vent to. Maybe yahoo.answers will be good for that for you. I hope things get better between you two soon!

she was bored and had nothing better to do then try and start trouble but i know how you feel when someone lies on you them there are fighting words go buy a sponge give it to her and say i hear you missing a sponge that way she will know that you know what she said then she will be the uncomfortable one.

There has to be more to it; I cannot beleive that this is over a sponge. If that is the case just get over it and show her that you are a better person. Life is too short ......and if by chance she doesn't respond to your action, then move on, she has a problem.....

You don't have to be nice--just be polite. There is no law that says that you have to be her friend. It would be a lot easier on your BLT if you at least acknowledged her presence.
What ever you do, don't turn your back to her. She might stab you in, it considering how crazy she seems to be.

just kiss her ass only when u need too ...i still hate my sisternlaw bu ti hav eto get along with her caue we are in same family as much as i hate talkin to her......i do anyways an i be the bigger person an try not to let it show in front of her........
