I am going to college full time...there are things that I would like to do with in my college and I live almost an hour away from the campus..So it takes me two hours out of the day to get there. I really do not want to work right now..I am currently working and dislike my job, it is getting in the way of my studies. My parent does not want to help me with the parent plus loan, and my boyfriend can not help support me (which I do not expect him too). Does anyone have any ideas on what I could do to support myself without having to get a job?

Thanks

Move closer to campus, cut your expenses down to the bone (maybe get rid of the car and commute by bike), and get a job that works better with your studies -- there are a lot of work study options open.

I just read something about how people with college degrees make a lot more on average than people with just high school degrees -- I wish I had it handy, but I don't. So, I think your priority should be getting that degree.

Living on campus simplifies things a lot -- your meals are made in the dorm, so there's very little cooking or cleaning up. Your commute is much shorter. You don't have to worry about parking. And you can make contacts with a whole lot of people -- something that may help you in the future.

If you get a job as an RA or other dorm assistant, you can live on campus for free, which means you won't need to work so much for your other expenses.

College is a very short time -- only four or five years for the average undergrad degree -- so concentrate on your studies now. You'll have time to work and commute and do other things later.

Only if you are in Australia, Centrelink is the way to go. They are a government organisation who are supposed to give some financial assistance to full-time students and unemployed people.

We are in it together i think, coz i am experiencing the similar thing. I am about to get redundant at this job i'm in, so i have put in a deposit for full time studies at this private college.

This brings upon my other tip: how about part time work on weekends, and one or two days after college?

Join the army reserve and they will pay for your classes, plus you can get the pell grant to help pay you personal expenses. But you really need to fill out for the pell grant so you can get up to 75% of your classes paid for, no money to pay back as long as you pass your classes. I was in the army and got the gi bill, so when i got out I joined the national guard so they would pay for my classes, and i got over 1,000 a month from the gi bill for being in the army. Plus, i got about 75% of my tuition paid to me from the pell grant. I was able to go to school full time and take extra classes to graduate early without working at all.

I know you said you didn't want to work, do you qualify for Work Study, (working at your school) or you take a loan out, knowning in a couple of years you'll need to pay it back with interest.

You can't really expect to make money unless you get a job...I suppose if you are hot you could set up a webcam and charge people to watch you....
I'm a grad student and I have a full time job...suck it up and either deal with the job you have or try to get a new one.
