Depending on what kind of duck you want, meat bird or egg-layer, that is the kind of species you should get. If you want one just for a pet, I would recommend mallards, as their green-heads are nice to look at. You can find cheap ducks at any local feed store during spring-early summer. Some people advertise their ducks, or pullets on craigslist and should come cheap. If you are looking for more than just 1-5 ducks, you might want them shipped to your home via mail. Order them online, like the website, "http://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/category/ducklings.html"
Good luck with your ducklings!

I'm not sure why you want a duck, but they are definitely not a good beginner pet. So if you have never looked after an animal before, I would suggest that you try something else. If you have your heart set on a duck, then do check out the website that I have listed.

In a farm! If you have a relative that's a farmer you could get from that. But really, would you like to take a hairless bird who cant even walk yet? I suggest waiting for a week or two then taking the baby bird!

Many ducks become homeless after easter. Rescuers often have ducks needign homes. go to www.duckrescue.org and search for a rescuer near you and see if they have ducks available. There is also a national adoption list you can check out

If you cannot afford the cost of a duckling then you cannot afford to adequately care for it.

I don't know what you mean by "trained" because there's sod all you can train them to do, especially whilst they're still fluffy yellow ducklings (they only stay that way for two weeks max)

they don't look to be sturdy cuddley pets in case you want one among those get a distinct puppy. ducks are -very- mean. regardless of in the adventure that they make it easier to puppy them they nevertheless are very reserved. in case you get one get a pen outdoors and placed them in that. verify you're taking sturdy care of them and do AS a lot analyze as plausible. Its complicated having a duck. Me and my cousin had one and it grow to be very impolite. attempt pigeons. they don't look to be just about as lovable yet in case you hand feed them and enable them outdoors even as they become older they are going to under no circumstances go away. i respect my pigeon. in simple terms be careful and sanitary with them. Or all birds for that be counted.
