This forum and some of the chat rooms I've belonged to have improved my typing speed, but not necessarily my spelling. I still rely on the Spell Check function before I post anything here or anywhere else that has that option.

There was one memorable evening when I was moderating three chat rooms and holding four sidebar conversations via AIM at the same time. By the time that night was over, my fingers were literally cramped into place and wouldn't move.

My poor husband had to run a basin of warm water for me to soak them in until the muscles relaxed. I never want to try to do that much typing again!

I had already been typing at superhuman speed(being a drummer and all),however the spell check has been invaluable in enhancing my spelling skills..ha ha....actually...I do spell better because I seem to take more time sounding out really hard words.

Haha. No. Lol. That's why my answers are always so far down the list... too pedantic about grammar.

Just another reason we should all have tolerance, hey.... then I might feel brave enough to type without paying attention to grammar and spelling. :p

Typing speed? Maybe. Spelling? No.

No, my typing skills came from playing Halo: Combat Evolved on my mac. As a sniper, it's important for me to never stop moving and to keep track of all enemies on the field for my team mates, so I learned to type incredibly fast so as to avoid being "type killed".

Ahh, generation gap.

Spelling? Apparently you haven't payed much attention to most postings....LOL!

No, actually, my essay class is doing a fine job of increasing my typing skills.

No, I type for a living in the "real" world anyway, and spelling correctly is part of it.

Yes. Well actually HELL YES.

I still think that ridiculous should be spelled rediculous though. Too bad spell check doesn't agree. I defer to their judgment.
