I don't have faith in God because science just makes more sense to me (although I'm still open-minded about God and am stil searching). I dont' know why I don't have faith, it just isn't there.

I do however, believe in ghosts. How can that be? Does it mean that I'm choosing what to believe and what not to believe? How can I believe in one form of the "spirit world' but not another?

I know I'm making myself sound like a dumba** because I am intrigued by the supernatural, but I can't seem to find God to be real. How can that be?

Breeze, I grew up a "practicing" Lutheran and I still don't have God in my heart. I don't think that opening myself up to him AGAIN is going to solve any confusion. On the contrary, it would only create more.

Jim, I read it all and I don't have an answer. I too have seen that show on Discovery and wondered the same thing. Just because we don't know something doesn't mean that it didn't happen or doesn't exist. (This goes for God and science by the way). I'm open for all possibilities, questioning everything and looking for others' opinions and thoughts that's all. You make some valid points. Thanks!

Can I ask you a question and have you provide me with a scientific answer than indeed covers the subject. It has to do with evolutionary jump in species and the time involved in making such a change.. When I was forced to study this "science" in High School a again in college I was told that change was slow and normally came about because of environmental changes.. Well tonight on the Discovery Channel there was my question again. Science says there was a mass extinction event that almost kill every living think on the earth. A few small rodent like animals were able to survive. Then in less than a few hundred thousands years these small mammals became the giants of the ice age.. In evolutionary terms that is remarkable change. Those rodents were uniquely qualified to survive just as they were why did they evolve? And to become so diverse it's so removed form the possible that I wonder how thinking people can except the idea? If you read all that thanks. If you can answer great, If you can only except that it had to be a directed change by a higher intelligence better. If it leads you to a place where you can build faith in Christ BEST.... Jim

I think that you are generally seeking truth here- and if you keep seeking you will find God. However, let us differentiate between religion and relationship- you said you examined the Lutheran faith. I grew up Lutheran myself. I did not find the Lord until years later when I turned 17. This is not to say that you cannot find the Lord truly in the Lutheran church, I know people who have- however I am saying that I was a very "religious kid" and knew the right things to say- I believe that Jesus was real and that He died on the cross- but I did not make it personal until I really looked deep inside my heart and found out that I was a sinner, and needed Jesus to be my Savior. Also we live in the world- and Satan for a time, is the prince of this world, and he will do anything to keep you from coming into a personal relationship with Christ. Being spiritual does not make you a Christian. Remember your relationship begins with admitting you are a sinner, and asking Jesus to forgive you. Read the book of John and ask God to reveal His Son to you, through each verse- and He will- because He is seeking you- long before you seek Him. God bless, and if you want to email me please feel free.

No I think your going to through the questioning process and you'll find which ever makes more sense to you.... I am a Muslim but I believe in Evolution.. Am I picking and choosing? I don't think so.. Quran tells us to Learn and not believe blindly..... I believe in Science but I also believe in God.. Because to me it makes more sense that God gave us power of science... I believe in ghost too....besides I read somewhere that they proved that ghost exists. I don't know if it was an authentic source or not though.

Yeah that is a paradox since God is supernatural. But you do have a measure of faith given to you if you accept Jesus and all that He has done for you. You just need to search and ask Him to come into your heart.

Ghosts, forces, whatever you called them are very real. Stay away from such things.

Hope you find Him.

I don't believe in any god but I believe in ghosts. You don't need a god to believe in ghosts. Ghosts may exist on another plain from ours, in another dimension. There's even some proof for ghosts, just not enough to say definately without a doubt that they're real. There is no proof for god(s). Don't doubt yourself. You trust in the facts and experience, not in fairy tales. Its only logical.

We all choose what to believe and what not to believe. You can't believe something just because someone else says you should.

Personally, to give you an example, I believe in a spirit power and energy. I think this energy could explain "ghosts". It simply has nothing to do with a supreme being.

The Buddha tells us to believe only what makes sense to us, no matter who says it. I think this is a very important thing to keep in mind.

to find the real, living GOD, you dont have to "search", HE is within you. HE is knocking at the door of your heart, waiting for you to open that door and let HIM in. once you accept that JESUS CHRIST is the Son of the one, true GOD, and that HE came to die for your sins, once you repent of those sins, and ask JESUS to enter and let GOD be your guide and teacher...the blindness that every man has until this point will slip from your eyes, and you will begin to understand, your faith will grow, and GOD will teach you HIS mysteries and reveal to you HIS secrets, just as HE promised. i tell you this from experience. GOD does not promise that live will become easy and problem free, in fact it will be the hardest thing you have ever committed to...but it will be the most worthwhile thing that you have ever done.

easy as pie....you are looking for God with an analytical carnal mind, and he isn*t there. God is spirit...God doesn*t ask to live in your mind or for you to believe in him with your mind....he said that whosoever believeth in me with their entire heart, and confesseth with their mouth shall be saved, that he would come to live with them, and them with him. He furthermore says that we all are born with a measure of faith...you need to earnestly seek your mustard seed of faith, call on the holy spirit to lead and guide you into the truth of God, you need to talk to God....tell him what you have shared here with us, and ask that he show himself to you....he will because he loves you that much, and he isn*t willing that any should perish. May God*s eye opening experience soon visit your spirit man....be praying for you...

The question is, WHICH God do you not find to be real...?

The one who made the universe, or any of the ones that INFLUENCED the making of the universe?
