Normal rate of growth is around 1/2 inch a month for most people.... How long is your hair now? Hair seems to grow faster in the warmer months because of the humitiy :O) For starter's don't cut !!!! Salons want you to have your have trimed often because they want your money.... Hair grows from the roots and not the ends... If you don't have split ends then your hair doesn't need a trim.... Longer you can go between trims the longer your hair will get.... The more you trim the shorter your hair is going to get :o( Patience is Key !!!! No heat is a major part also.... That means no hair dryers, curling irons or products of any kind..... They are bad for your hair and only damage what hair you do have :o( As for split ends.... If you do have them trim only right about where is needed or do a dusting.... One of best ways to reduce split ends and breakage of your hair so it can grow long is let your hair air dry and then comb out.... DON'T brush while your hair is wet.... Hair is like elastic and when wet is more prone to streching out and breaking.... Try to avoid brushing so much.... Use a wide tooth comb.... Massaging your head will help stimulate your growth also.... Anywhooo.... Good luck :O) Just a warning though.... There is NO fast way to grow hair long.... It takes time and patientce.... O and again NO PRODUCTS they will only hurt your hair in the long term.... I use Redken Clear Moisture shampoo and conditioner and love it.... Again Good Luck....

Here are some hair growth tips:
Tip # 1: Do conditioning pre-wash treatments to your hair before shampooing it. Simply whip up 2 tablespoons of Mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, and 1 egg. Let it remain on your hair for at least an hour. It will tame and soften your hair, strengthen your roots and strands, and reduce your need for any chemicals or heat on your hair. Do this 2-3 times a week.
Tip # 2: Do a hot oil treatment once a month of your hair. Use olive, canola, or any oil you have. Warm it for 10-30 seconds in a bowl and apply.
Tip # 3: Buy a high quality, all natural hair product for your hair. Find one that contains powerful essential oils, natural herbs, and vitamin rich nutrients your hair needs to thrive. Look for products with ingredients such as: Aloe Vera, Citrus Fruits, Jojoba, Rosemary, and Sage. Make sure you stray away from all natural products that use natural extracts. Extracts are not as powerful as essentials oils. Also stay away from most products in drugstores and beauty supply stores. They contain phosphates, sodium lauryl sulfate, petroleum, mineral oil, and other lab created humectants that ultimately damage your hair. To give your hair a salon quality look and restore its moisture I recommend trying A Double Portion Super Hair Growth Shampoo. The product is made by Beauty 4 Ashes and I use it on many of my clients. This conditioner will grow, thicken, and hydrate your hair and infuse your scalp with essential oils made to treat damaged, dry, dull, and lifeless hair. The product also contains moisturizing Aloe Vera, Coconut Oil, Vitamin E, and Jojoba, which will rejuvenate your strands and make your hair more bouncy, shiny, moisturized and healthy. You can find it at wwwdiscoverb4acom. I highly recommend it.
Tip # 4: Eat a protein rich diet, full of eggs, beans, cheese, and fish.

If you want your hair to grow faster than usual you should use natural products like coconut oil take coconut oil and massage your head with it every night. Make sure when you're washing out the oil you're using a a henna shampoo.Conditioning treatments with henna, at least once every week, will help to restore the damage and strengthen hair. Henna not only conditions hair, but also improves the texture

The following products are supposed to be really good at making hair grow fast:
MTG- Mane and Tail Grow (This is really a product made for horses so their hair could grow; however I know many females who have used it and say that they achieved at least 1 inch of new growth in one month!! The only thing is that supposedly it smells really bad since it has sulphur in it.)
www.shapelys.com
Sulphur 8 Ointment - Sulphur in general is supposed o make your hair grow. (Can be found in any Beauty Supply or drug store. Approx. $6.00 for the larger jar)
Boundless Tresses Growth Serum: This can be ordered at www.growthspecifics.com.
(It is only sold online.) At lot of ladies I know have achieved growth with it. I just ordered 2 bottles to see what it can do for me.
Surge 14 Revitilizer Spray: Spray on your scalp. Some people say it really worked for them. It was just ok for me. (Can be found at most beauty supply stores for about $6.00)
Jamaican Black Castor Oil: For growth and thickness (Can be found in Indian grocery stores or in some beauty supply stores. If not, check www.sams247.com)
Please check out this website: www.longhaircareforum.com. Read through the discussion forums on hair products and hair care. These women know what they are talking about!! You will be able to find a wealth of information on how to use these products and other methods to do in order to help your hair not only grow, but to become healthy. Hope that helps. (P.S, they have many acronyms for products that you might have trouble understanding in the beginning. After reading enough thread though, you'll start to understand!!) Hope that helps!

Mix vodka & cayenne pepper in a jar. Let it sit for a while then massage your scalp with the mixture. DO NOT DRINK THE MIXTURE!!!! it will burn but its suppose to stimulate the hair follicles. Wash it out when the burning gets to bad & don't leave it on over night. Also try massaging your head with a statically charged metal comb. These are back woods remedies for hair growth so good luck. My granny says they work though.

Research has confirmed the role of zinc has a vital nutrient in the healthy growth of hair. Zinc is an important element in the management of stress when it is mobilized in stress as it is an important constituent of many vital enzymes required for normal body functions.
In terms of hair, nails and skin, it helps in the synthesis of various proteins, which subsequently facilitate growth and maintenance. So any deficiency in the levels of zinc in the body will directly result in impaired growth and damage to these body parts.

Nothing will make your hair grow faster. You can eat healthier and it will make your hair grow stronger and have it trimmed every 4 week and that will help it from splitting so it will appear to grow faster. All that really happens is that you keep it healthier so it doesn't split or break.
