yes i know it was to prove a point. to me that goes against what god is about. if god is as holy as the bible claims then why would he even allow such a travesty to occur. when in the end he knew the outcome ahead of time.

What makes you think God "knew the outcome ahead of time?"

What God knew was that Job needed to learn something. He knew that this was a way of achieving that lesson. It was also a way of teaching all the earth similar lessons throughout the ages.

In this case, Job did learn the lesson; he came out of the ordeal with much greater faith in God. Though some have not learned the lessons God has tried to teach them. It could have been the case that Job didn't learn to trust God.

The ordeal was difficult, even painful. But the rewards FAR, FAR outweigh the temporary difficulty and pain of the lesson.

Holiness does not mean not coming into trouble or difficulty. Notice that God had protected Job from many troubles before Satan began his onslaught (Job 1:10). God merely removed some of that protection. That in no way detracts from God's holiness. God allows people to live the way they want. For those who want to become better, he teaches. For those who are satisfied with living a life doomed to destruction, he leaves be.

You attribute to 'holiness' what is not correct. How does holiness make anyone bound to protect everyone from being harmed or wrongly influenced by others?

All parents know ahead of time that the lives of their children will include considerable painful problems, sooner or later. What you are intimating is:

1. That you think that no one should have any children, because of this foreknowledge.
2. That those who have had children, are unloving & selfish.

God is Perfect, in the Biblical sense... not in the idealistic man-made sense. Men think that God ought to shield them from alll the calamity that they have brought on themselves & their fellow humans. He will ultimately do away with both the trouble makers, & the results of their activities. In the mean time, the rest of us have the opportunity to see for ourselves how vain are the attempts of mankind to rule themselves, with their backs turned on God. For Him to have not allowed any such thing to occur would have required that he build robots, rather than creat living beings... Would you really rather be an unfeeling, senseless, robot?

Satan called into question the integrity of Job. What God allowed was not only for him to prove that some people would love Jehovah God through any adversity, but also to prove himself to be a man of integrity. Job was rewarded with more than he'd had before, plus, he will have his entire family reunited via the resurrection of the dead:

God allow Satan to cause destruction in his life, because God's authority was in question. Satan told God that the only reason that Job loved and worshiped him was because of everything God had given him. Satan said that if it was took away from him that Job would no longer love him. But as we can see, Job remained true to God and didn't give Satan the satisfaction he was wanting. My hope is to be as faithful as Job, no matter what may come my way. We could ALL learn a very important message from Job.

You actually answered your own question....... he is NOT just or all loving. He is a jealous and vengeful god....it says exactly that in the bible. I think god proved how evil he was when he played a game with his most trusting and loving follower. Think of it...... Its like " I bet I can piss farther than you can!". You know what I mean - god and Satan in a pissing contest and poor Job was the one being pissed on! Some god he turned out to be. I would be terrified to even get close or be faithful to a god such as he ... think of it, the closer you get the more he will play games with you for his amusement.

First of all , all your question proves nothing about love and holiness. Tell me where do you get your definition of love and holiness from, your own imagination?

After all while you doubt God loves ,you are probably one of the brainwashed ones who accepts all the modern crap, such as two men sodomising each other equals love and homosexuals are too holy, to dare criticize them would be blasphemy, but to criticze God is nothing that is ok.
Is that you Mr. Critical examiner?

You have assumptions about what Gods love should be that you have taken from places outside of the scriptures, maybe like your baby nursery stories and now you can't deal with reality, so you blame God because it doesn't match with your worthless opinions of what you want it to be, that is what happens when mama raise 'em weak. You probably could of used a few more slaps in the face as a child, then you would understand. But as it is now, you think two boys kissing is ok but God is not, genius. Is that the kind of wisdom you have to offer?
No thanks.

But nevertheless you deserve pity, you have been brainwashed into these arrogant opinions.

there is an answer in the Scriptures

firstly though, you need to understand that we gave satan rulership over us when our first parents, Adam & Eve chose independance from YHWH
Luke 4:5-8
James 4:4
John 15:19
John 17:14
John 18:36
Acts 5:29
1 John 2:15
Romans 12:2
John 14:30
2 Corinthians 4:4
Ephesians 2:2
1 John 5:19

but 1 Corinthians 10:13 is our comfort until YHWH restores Eden

Your parents taught you not to play with fire, and then cooked your supper. Do you curse the fire that burns, or your parents? Our government is debating whether to restrict the sale of baking soda, because it might be used by terrorists. This is not an intellectual exercise. It is not a metaphor. Do you curse terrorism, or those that allowed it to fester? It's called Providence. God provides the solution, to all problems. Cursing the creator, is the source of all problems.

Because the Devil told God that no one would stay with him if he took all he had. The devil thought Job would just curse God and die as his friends and even wife told him to do but he stayed so faithful and praised God it the midst of all that . Then God blessed him in the end for his faithfulness and received everything 100 fold for what the devil took away. I think is what it represents is that we need to stay focused on God even when we are being attacked and if we remain faithful then God will honor us. It is easy to love and praise God when things our going our way but to trust him and praise him when it is all falling apart, now that is faith. I hope that helps you. Good luck and God bless you

because it was Job who learned the lesson.

Just a question. If He is God, why does he have to have a tiny creature on a tiny planet, in an unbelievably large universe, justify Him? The fact that you do not understand seems logical to me.

God has been tempted. When He was on earth, He was tempted. But He succeeded over them. He knows how it feels like to be tempted and He wants us to "graduate" from our temptations. He allowed Job to be "tortured" to test him. It's a trial most would have failed in. No one can understand God fully. But we can all be sure that He loves us and all He thinks of and does is of love. After all, God IS LOVE
