I want to buy a beach cruiser but I don't know how to stop that bike without hand breaks. I have not been riding a bike for years and this is my first time to get a cruiser. Please don't look down on me, I just want a clear answer so I can be sure I will be safe when I ride the bike. Thanks!

A bike usually has 1 of 2 kinds of brakes - hand brakes or pedal brakes. If there are no hand brake levers, then try pedaling backwards. The pedals should move maybe 1/8 of a turn at most, and then apply the brakes.

Beach Cruisers usually have pedal breaks. Just pedal backwards and it will stop.

Most cruisers have what is called a coaster or "foot" brake. These have been the same for years. Simply pedal backwards and the brakes will be applied.
